Passing capability is a rudimentary problem of high speed railway’s operation and management,and it has guiding significance for the formulation of operation plan and train diagram. In the plan execution stage, a thorough understanding of passing capability helps with arrange transportation missions. This article has studied passing capability of high speed railway combined with the characteristics of the passing capability. The main works of the thesis includes the following aspects:(1) This paper researches on the expression of high speed railway’s passing capability by the characteristics and practicability based on analysis of the characteristics. It considered that the expression of high speed railway’s passing capability is some section’s passing trains quantity in unit time.(2) Various existing methods(the removal coefficient, the minimal of interval and computer simulation) were analyzed, combined with the characteristics, the basic principles of methods for passing capability’s calculation was put forward.(3) The influence factors are discussed in three aspects:equipments and establishments, train operation and organization, transport demand.(4) Passing capability’s calculation model is established according to the high density of schedule, and main idea is reverse inference. The objective function is time occupied minimization and stop proportion,crossing proportion, crossing times, different rank train’s proportion,number of trains tracking, the value range is the essential restriction.(5) The characteristics of model and the optimal solution were analyzed for the solving method of the model which is based on the analyze for distribution and time occupied of trains tracking and crossing. A simple solving method for the model and the process is found, and the relative program is developed.(6) Taking the Beijing-shanghai high-speed railway’s Nanjing-shanghai passenger section as an example, passing capability is calculated to verify the efficiency and rationality of the model. Analysis was made of the sensitivity of the influence factors and general variation regularities is got.(7) In conclusion, point out main work of the dissertation and the orientation of future research prospective.
