With the continuous development of city construction in our country, urban traffic has become one of the most major problems. Cities have planned or completed part of the construction of the subway engineering. Shield as its construction equipment has made a certain development at present in our country. The subway construction in China has obtained preliminary achievement. Our country also established the shield institute of technology to provide the foundation for the design and research of the construction of shield. The design and manufacture of Shield cutterhead and the layout of knife plate cutter is still the main factors that limit the shield technology development in our country. Therefore, in order to achieve a better development of shield cutterhead design research, in this paper, the shield cutterhead and cutter configuration was studied, the concrete content is as follows:The main form of shield machine cutter is studied, the application of each kind of the knife dish form has made the detailed analysis, aiming at different formation conditions, choose appropriate forms of the knife dish, preparing for further design of the knife dish. at the same time the main tool on the knife dish is analyzed and introduced, including cutting class cutter and hob, and analyzes each kind of form and function of a tool, through the comparison of different cutting tool to set suitable cutting tool in the design of the knife dish.Research and analysis of the main cutting tool’s cutting form and movement characteristics, according to the movement characteristics to establish predictive model of the stress of the hob, and analyzes the tool’s main wear form in the process of excavation of shield to put forward reasonable suggestions on tool wear. Analyzed the rock fragmentation principle of hob and the hob broken rock conditions, gives the calculation method of hob cutter spacing, as to provide theoretical basis for the configuration of the gear hob. Introduced several kinds of prediction model of hob broken rock at domestic and overseas, and make the contrast. analyzed the main wear mode of hob and analysis the causes of abnormal wear.According to different forms of the knife dish, studied the tool configuration method and principle. The model of the design and layout of the cutter is simplified. Its rationality is verified by an example.Finally, the paper through Hangzhou metro line4, according to its geological conditions, make the selection of shield machine cutter, and calculate the torque and thrust, through the finite element analysis of the knife dish in normal and maximum thrust under basic condition, validate the rationality of the cutter.
