The Research Of Shield Disc Cutter Wear Detection Technology

Cutter tool wear detection is always a difficult problem in shield tunnel construction. During tunneling process, the wear cannot be measured directly, which has brought great difficulties to the cutter tool replaced. Aimed at the cutting tool wear detection problems at the time of shield machine construction, this article researched cutter tool wear detection through direct detection and indirect detection.The indirect detection method introduced the Hilbert-Huang transform firstly,then transformed the torque and thrust signals into energy spectra by Hilbert-Huang transform, as feature vectors to describe the change of cutter tool wear. And the energy spectrum of the cutting tool is trained by Hidden Markov Model method, to build a statistical model of tool wear. Then the observation signals are put into the training model, and the output probability is compared with the original model, this method predicts the wear trend of shield cutters.The direct detection method is realized by gather-diffused monitoring system. It introduced the hardware selection and the working principle of each module.Subordinate computer measured the cutter wear by electricity eddy sensor,transformed the collected information into electricity signal. Then send the signal to upper computer. Then introduced the design of software and the key technology to realize the system. Upper computer developed a software of cutting tool wear detection by C# program language, the collected signals were disposed and computed by the software and showed the wear. By measuring the cutter wear at current time,we can know the state of cutter ware timely and accurately. Offered technology support for “replace cutter tool by condition”. This direct method effectively reflects the wear state of shield cutters.At last, this article combined the measured wear detection and the result of theoretical analysis, it can predict the cutter’s life and estimate the cutter’s condition accurately by combining theory and practice.
