Solar thermal electric power generation is a main form of using new energy sources, and dish solar thermal electric power generation has high efficiency and great potential. Dish solar thermal electric power generation is a kind of point focusing equipment, It need to set a matching dish solar auto-tracking system to track the position of the sun when working. The precision of dish solar auto-tracking system can directly affect the generating efficiency of the equipment. It is significantly for making research into the precision of dish solar auto-tracking system.Firstly, according to dish solar auto-tracking system, this article analyzed the reasons which cause errors, including errors of control system, transmission mechanism, other fields, et al. The errors of dish solar auto-tracking system will change with changing of the type of main transmission, it has high feasibility and wide optimizing space. Therefore, this article making a deep research based on the transmission mechanism of dish solar auto-tracking system.Secondly, on the basic of1kW working platform of dish solar auto-tracking system we have, choosing a higher precision transmission mechanism to match the working platform. Then, deducing drive equations of altitude angle and azimuth angle, based on characters of the transmission mechanism, and building the3D models of transmission mechanism. In this article, screw is used to adjust altitude angle, then worm and gear is for azimuth angle.Finally, using ADAMS, which is a powerful software that has strong ability to do simulation analyses, we use it to do the simulation of kinematics and dynamics simulation of transmission mechanism of established dish solar auto-tracking system and output simulation data. Then, we use ANSYS to do structural mechanics analysis and modal analysis of transmission mechanism, based on the dynamics simulation data. Ultimately, obtain the errors of dish solar auto-tracking system by synthesizing the simulations.The research results show that simulation path of dish solar auto-tracking system is compatible with sun path. Transmission mechanisms run stably and meet the equipment’s working. Errors of kinematics are±0.0030°, and errors of structural mechanics are±0.0060°, so the tracking errors of transmission mechanism are±0.0090°. According to the model analysis result, load and deformation of parts is less than resonance amplitude of materials, and transmission mechanism is safe and reliable.In a word, screw and worm and gear can be self-hold, while they have high transmission accuracy. This research lays a theoretical foundation of the study to improve the precision of the dish solar auto-tracking system. Meanwhile this research puts forward the shortages of the precision of dish solar auto-tracking system, and opens the way to making intensive study, especially for the influence of wind load. It is of great significance to research on the influence of wind load, even though it is difficult.
