With the increase of the world population and the advancement of science and technology, land resources have been consumed seriously. With the problems of energy shortages becoming more and more important, developing and utilizing the rich marine resources has more and more important and practical significance. Because human beings continue to explore the deep sea, mooring system can not meet the increasing demand of vessels’ positioning operation, dynamic positioning systems come up. Since the1990s, nonlinear control theory and intelligent control methods have been developing rapidly, which provide a theoretical basis for the research of dynamic positioning control technology. How to apply the advanced control theory to the dynamic positioning system becomes an important topic in the field of dynamic positioning control technology.As an intelligent control method embedding human knowledge, fuzzy control has advantages of not depending on accurate mathematical model of the controlled object, fast response, good robustness and so on. Fuzzy rules are the core of fuzzy control, getting fuzzy rules through data mining algorithm can overcome the defects of human subjectivity through experts’ experience. This paper designs a fuzzy controller for the dynamic positioning control system of ships operating under a certain sea condition. Data mining algorithm is used to get the fuzzy rules. Then, a computer numerical simulation on a supply ship is carried out, which verifies the effectiveness of the dynamic positioning fuzzy controller. Furthermore, for the ships operating in the ocean with the problems of the uncertainties of ship dynamics and external environmental disturbances, an adaptive fuzzy controller for dynamic positioning is developed by incorporating the fuzzy system in vectorial backstepping design tool. The fuzzy system is adopted to approach the uncertain item. Simulation results on two supply ships show that the proposed control scheme for dynamic positioning of ships is effective.Finally, a manipulation interface of the dynamic positioning system is developed based on VC++,and relevant functions of main interfaces have come true.
