Due to its high speed, high temperature resistance and high rigidity, angular contact ball bearing has received much attention and been widely used in high-speed machining field. Because of load concentration of the friction pair, the pressure is very high in the point contact zone of angular contact ball bearing. Elastohydrodynamic lubrication is very important to reduce friction and material wear. So it’s necessary to study the elastohydrodynamic lubrication of angular contact ball bearing. The main contents are as follows:(1) Based on the EHL theory of point contact, the mathematical model of the elastohydrodynamic lubrication for angular contact ball bearing was established. Nondimensionalization and discretization processing will be carried in every equation, which provide basis in accord with actual working condition for this research. A process was designed to analysis elastohydrodynamic lubrication property of angular contact ball bearing by multi-grid method. Then the changes of internal oil film lubrication can be obtained.(2) According to complicated actual working condition elastohydrodynamic lubrication property of angular contact ball bearing was analyzed under different speed and load. The results show that speed has great effect on elastohydrodynamic lubrication property. The influence of load is relatively small, and mainly on pressure distribution.(3) It is helpful to improve the elastohydrodynamic lubrication property through analyzing elastohydrodynamic lubrication property of different material bearings. The numerical results show that compared with common full steel and mix ceramic angular contact ball bearing the lubrication property of full ceramic angular contact ball bearing is better. The advantage of the lubrication property of full SiC ceramic angular contact ball bearing is very obviously among the cases of SisN4、SiC and ZrO2material combinations.(4) Two-dimensional model of the micro channel is established, which reflects the condition of contact area of angular contact ball bearing’s rings and ball. Then analysis the effect of rough surface on lubricating oil. The results show that the micro channel flow is highly affected by the entrance section effects, but the entrance length is small.The results show that two dimensional elastic deformation of point contact is more complex than one dimensional elastic deformation of line contact when dealing with dimensionless discretization equation and defect equation for the analysis of elastohydrodynamic lubrication. Speed, load, materials and other influence factors have obvious effects on elastohydrodynamic lubrication condition. Roughness has great influence on velocity, which mainly reflects in lubricating oil flow in the entrance area.
