In today’s energy crisis has become increasingly prominent, wind energy as a renewable and clean energy, because of its inexhaustible, inexhaustible characteristics by world wide attention and development use. Wind power is the most important form of wind energy, industrial development momentum has been formed in some countries. For specific wind power technology, wind speed measurements are an essential part of the control of wind turbines and wind power equipment maintenance assessment. Targeted at the insufficiency of traditional wind speed measurement, we use the wind power generation system directly driving by permanent magnet as the research object, combined with the fan operation law, lead to the concept of equivalent wind speed. Based on the research of the maximum power tracking control method, we proposed and discuss a new equivalent wind speed calculation method of the wind power generation system. In this paper, based on the research of the traditional wind speed measurement, in full discussion about the classification of the wind power system and its mechanical structure, we export the relationship of energy conversion about the wind power system. Then on the basis of the relationship on energy conversion of the wind power generation system, we presented an equivalent wind speed calculation method.using the least squares number type fitting, and Newton iterative method for solving a wind wheel the wingtip speed ratio, the current wind speed is determined according to the relationship between the wing tip speed ratio and the equivalent wind speed. In the paper, we present the equivalent wind speed calculation method, using Visual C++MFC technology implementation, so that the wind speed calculation method to ease of use. The software implementation uses the ActiveX control technology and the MFC controls, man-machine-friendly interface and is easy to use.
