A Study Of Wind Power Application And Development In Shandong Province

Wind energy, as one kind of clean, renewable energy, has a promising future of being developed and used in large scale. Wind power is in line with our county's industry policy and industry strategic planning, and is in line with our country's 21st century energy Strategic Planning. In addition, wind power can promote our country's industrial structure adjustment. As a result, wind energy is very competitive and cannot be replaced by other kind of energy. To make a decision of developing a wind farm in an area should be based on the reserve of wind energy resources of the area. Thus, it is critical to make an evaluation of the reserve of wind energy resources of the area. The wind energy resources of China are very rich. Wind energy resources are found in China's southeast coastal area, Guangdong Province's coastal area and its offshore islands, as well as Northeast and Northern area of China. Shandong Province is in the middle latitudes, has a long coastline, and big flatlands. Strong winds appear frequently in Shandong. As a result, wind energy of Shandong is very rich. This thesis includes three parts:(1) A summary of atmosphere characteristics of Shandong is proposed. Based on the data of wind speed and wind direction, the law of wind distribution of this province has been found.(2) Statistical method is employed to analyse and calculate the parameters of Shandong wind energy resources. Then, Shandong wind energy resources charts are made. The province is divided into several areas according to the wind energy of the area. This thesis offers an evaluation of the reserves of wind energy resources in theory and the capacity can be developed. This provides reliable basis for wind power planning, surveying, design and long term power system planning, andoptimization of power plants distribution.(3) According to the wind energy distribution charts, some practical application examples are made.Based on the studies mentioned above, the areas of Shandong with rich wind energy are shown. When energy planning, power system planning and country area power system planning are being made, the areas with rich wind energy can be considered to make wind power developed. Windmills can be installed in proper sites in country area and factories. Furthermore, wind power has environment advantages. It can not only offer us an economy way of reducing greenhouse gas emission, but also spectacular man-made view of Windmill. This is a combination of wind power generation and modern science and humanities views, makes human beings live in perfect harmony with nature.
