Road transportation infrastructure is expanding rapidly through our countrychanging the mode of economic development. As length of highway increased, mainhighway has become a high incidence area of traffic accident, the quantity of accidentof vehicle-roadside infrastructure follows this change, mainly shown by vehicleimpacting guardrails.Accident of vehicle-guardrail is single-vehicle crash in general. Inappropriatesituation exists in responsibility identification, raising conflict. Available observationof vehicle-guardrail mainly aims at the safety performance evaluation of guardrail, lack of common method of accident reconstruction.Calculating speed of vehicle is the primary goal in accident reconstruction ofvehicle-guardrail. It is necessary to induce an easy way to improve the efficiency ofaccident reconstruction. Accident of vehicle-guardrail involves with nonlinear questionand large deformation question, it is short of empirical equations and data. It’s difficultto calculate speed reliably based on mechanical law. Professional software couldn’treconstruct status of vehicle in the accident accurately since lack of precise guardrailmodel.Vehicle and W-beam guardrail is considered as main researched objective.W-beam guardrail and ground foundation are simplified to be similar to vehicle parts.Related parameter is set in PC-CRASH. Based on field vehicle full-scale crash test, guardrail model could be constructed through PC-CRASH.Utilizing the guardrail model could simulate vehicle-guardrail test under differentinitial velocity and angle so as to generalize regularity about vehicle movement orbits and energy attenuation. For this simulation result, an easy way could be induced tocalculate speed of vehicle.
