In order to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, since enteringthe new century, governments at all levels have been stepping up efforts to develophydropower utilities. During the construction of hydropower stations, various types ofslope stability and governance issues become not be ignored. Because of specialtopography between Tibet and Sichuan, stability evaluation, failure mode and allkinds of natural slope and engineering slope failure process analysis is particularlyimportant. Houziyan Station Diversion Tunnel inlet side of a slope is like this. Afterthe completion of the diversion diversion tunnel will be transformed into the role ofspillway tunnel, so it is not a temporary project. Therefore, the stability of thediversion tunnel slope has a very important significance on the normal operation ofthe entire project.In this paper,the rock slope of the Houziyan diversion tunnel inlet is subjected,First,we survey, collect, analyze regional geographical and environmental conditionsof the dam area,then we study the lithology and geological structure andhydrogeological.On the basis of this work, we focuses on the lithology, geological,hydrogeological lithology, geological structure, hydrogeological of Diversion TunnelSlope area.Then we work out the possible failure modes and instability path both innature slope and excavated slope. In this paper, limit equilibrium method and Slidesoftware are used as a tool to calculate for potential instability path. And using theDEM software UDEC, we simulate damage and deformation of natural slope and theexcavation process and post-support. Finally, the suggestions for improvement onsupport are given due to the calculation results.Details and results are as follows:On the basis of survey data,we comprehensive summed up the structure ofrock,and initially established a geological model.Rock quality will be divided intoⅡ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ category,and the major categories to Ⅳ and Ⅴ at the same time.Through the geologieal analysis and judgement,to elaborate on the Possibleinstability of the adverse combination of block model and adopt the ultimate balanceof the project slope stability of the overall calculation and assessment. UDEC diserete two-dimensional element soft ware on the slope deformationprocess of numerical simulation, from stress,displaeement,and displaeement vectoranalysis of the situation in different natural step when calculating the deformationcharacteristics.
