A number of traffic accidents show that driver fatigue, drunk driving andspeeding are the main causes of these accidents. Among them, driver fatigue hasbecome a main cause of the serious traffic accidents in recent years. Many factorsmay make driver fatigue and the highway landscape is one of the important factors.Begin with the relationship of highway landscape continuity and driver fatigue,by using the neural network model, we establish the model of relationship ofquantized highway landscape and driver fatigue. We built the relationship model ofhighway landscape and driver fatigue using the neural network model by studying thequantification method of highway landscape and driver fatigue based on the conceptsof highway landscape and driver fatigue.The major research issues include:1) Extracting and quantifying the highway landscape. In this thesis, manydomestic and foreign landscape methods are referred and the research contents of thisthesis are combined to choose roadside trees, signs, billboards, sharp turns, the vehiclecoming in the opposite direction and some other special landscape chosen as the sixlandscape variables. And then, the highway landscape is simplified as thecombination of the six landscape variables.2) Establishing the relationship model of the highway landscape continuity anddriver fatigue based on neural network. The PERCLOS value is chosen as driver fatigue monitoring index and the neural network model is chosen as driver fatigueprediction mathematical model to establish the driver fatigue model.3) Converting eye movement data to the fatigue indices. Converting the drivereyelid closure time tracked by the Smart-Eye eye movement tracker to PERCLOSvalues, proving the validity of the index besides.4) Building the model and putting forward the suggestions. Establishing threeexperimental control groups based on the neural network model. Using the results ofthese experiments to analyze the relationship of driver fatigue and road landscape indifferent conditions and put forward some constructive suggestions on the design ofhighway landscape.The contents of this thesis have certain theoretical value and practicalsignificance for the road landscape design. To a certain extent, it will enrich thetechnique method system of highway landscape.
