With the development at full speed of the economy of our country, the heavy dutycommercial vehicle plays an important role in the traffic transport in our country, and theperformance of heavy-duty commercial vehicle has also put forward higher requirements.The more complex using condition of heavy vehicle dicides that it will produce frequentstarting and shifting, and frequent starting and shifting will keep and separate clutch, theperformeace of clutch is required. At present, heavy duty commercial vehicle mainly usesdry clutch, and the application of wet clutch is less. In fact, the wet clutch has manyadvantages relative to dry clutch, such as small abrasion, joint flexibility and fast heatdissipation etc.The wet clutch is different with dry clutch in power transfer of engine. Dry clutchdoesn’t transmit the power before the clutch engages, but wet clutch will produce viscoustorque which is the biggest difference.In this paper, we simulate and analyze power transfer characteristics of the wet clutchbased on heavy-duty commercial vehicle, match and optimize the related parameters of wetclutch. The main research contents of this paper include the following aspects.1.Analyze the function of wet clutch and classify the clutch in different way. Analyzedeeply influencing factors of bonding characteristics of wet clutch and the power transferprocess of wet clutch based on heavy-duty commercial vehicle. Then analyze the evaluationindex and factors of power delivery performance of vehicle wet clutch.2.Analyze kinetic equation of wet clutch engagement process and establish mathematicalmodel. Analyze calculatation method of torque at different stage of engagement process.With the analysis of the wet clutch, establish the corresponding simulation model bySimulink software and analyze the simulation results.3.Match the related parameters of wet clutch based on transmission system performanceof heavy-duty commercial vehicle, prove the wet clutch which is studied is applicable to the commercial vehicle platform. In addition, this paper also optimize the parameters of wetclutch.The simulation and research on power transfer characteristics of the wet clutch based onheavy-duty commercial vehicle is important to the development of wet clutch, whichprovides theory basis for future application of wet clutch in heavy commercial vehicle.
