With the rapid development of computer technology, information and communication technology and internet control technology, Quality of life has been continuously improved, people nowadays pay more attention to lifestyle with personalize, intelligent and fun-fill, moreover, home environment also put forward higher requirements, which came into being smart home. Nowadays, smart home system has become the future development trend of people live environment. Smart home system is the home management system which use computer technology, wireless communications, and automation and control technology, the related facilities will be integrated in home life. An efficient, smart, comfortable and convenient system was build to make people’s life safer, more comfortable, energy and intelligence.This paper analyzes the status of the development of smart home control system, duo to the high cost and highly complex issues on the current smart home control system, we design and implementation a simple, low-cost intelligent home control system gateway. This gateway solve the problems of poor mobility, system complexity, high cost and poor human-computer interaction capability in traditional smart home control systems, the WiFi technology,433wireless communication technology and ethernet communications technology are combined to make home gateway system become more flexible with mutiple control modes, moreover, it also along with a good user experience.The main research contents are as follows:(1) Design the architecture of smart home gateway, an embedded hardware platform was built in STM32F103VET6core processor chip.μC/OS-II operating system kernel was analyzed, the graphical user interface μC/GUI was successfully transplanted into Cortex-M3core processor chip STM32F103VET6, moreover the relevant drivers and multi-tasking applications was developed.(2) The appliances wireless communication protocol was studied, preliminary discuss the data exchange among smart mobile terminals, information appliances and smart home gateway in the smart home system.(3) The433MHz wireless communication principle was studied, the433wireless communication module was designed, and moreover, a smart home wireless network was successful set up through433MHz wireless communication technology.(4) Embedded TCP/IP protocol stack LWIP was transplant on the system platform, and build a smart home WEB server was built, so that internet users can easliy access the smart home control system though a standard web browser.The experimental tests show that the design of smart home gateway can well meet the demand of smart, portable and user-friendly in smart home control system, it can better achieve the home facility centralized management and control, while with easy operation, simple structure, low cost and so on, which provide the possibility for the promotion of low-cost smart home.
