Beginning in1950,the containerization began to develop rapidly, Gradually The early development of port lose the ability of cargo consolidation and Go decline. This condition causes each coastal state had to moved and rebuilded. With the development of citys,the function of citys are further optimization.The old port in urban centers and old industrial areas began to the large-scale urban reconstruction.So how to take advantage of precious town area to adaptive reuse,is a world problem.This thesis is based on the "sustainable development". Aim at the Xiamen port of development advantages and physical problem,combined with scholar of construction and planning department research about urban construction, Collation, comparison and analysis for the renovation and development of the old port in theory and Practice. To find own unique old port development mode. This thesis puts forward five principles of the old port of sustainable renovation, also use the design method of phenomenology of architecture theory to research the old port of sustainable renovation update strategy. Based on the investigation of the old Xiamen port area of Xiamen city, discuss about the location,style and features,the integrity of the protective traditional architecture, traffic organization, commercial activities, cultural characteristics of the old city district. Put forward comparative research method,and research about the area of Bifengwu, Put forward measures of renovation about architectural space,architectural interface, the spirit place,,make a conceptual design scheme about Bifengwu renovation. It also provides a valuable reference for the future development for project.
