Project manufacturing product has a long development cycle and makes high requirement onthe product quality, cost control and delivery control. As a typical complex product, projectmanufacturing product is often the combination of many different disciplines subsystem whichcontain machinery, power, control, electronic information system and so on. The design of theseproducts are completed by many different design teams or enterprise collaboration design alliance.In this case, huge amount of knowledge is involved, personnel demand on the relevant knowledgeof products are increasing and the difficulty of knowledge acquisition is also increasing.Collaborative design knowledge service platform based on ontology can support the design teamsof different subjects to complete product design and development in heterogeneous networkenvironment, providing an effective means of support for project manufacturing product design indifferent areas.Collaborative design knowledge service platform based on ontology services in productcollaborative design, and it needs the participation of many departments, multidisciplinary staff andwork together to provide knowledge. Using the collaborative design knowledge service platformbased on ontology generally involves acquiring and modeling of the collaborative design productknowledge, knowledge base, knowledge navigation and other technologies, in order to realize thesharing, reuse and accumulation of knowledge in the process of product development and design.This paper introduced ontology technology and knowledge services theory to the study ofcollaborative design method, expanding the connotation of design methodology, having animportant theoretical significance for the development of design methodology research.The main contents are as follows:1) Analyzing all kinds of knowledge elements and collaborative design knowledge serviceplatform framework in the ship design process. This is the foundation of standardization expressionand reuse of knowledge of the ship design knowledge services platform. Ship collaborativedesign-oriented multi-organizational knowledge, ship product structure knowledge and designprocess are analyzed. Knowledge services technology is introduced to meet the mobility, sharingand reuse of the knowledge. The theory of knowledge service is mainly researched, and the basicframe structure of the ship collaborative design knowledge service platform is put forward.2) Research on ship design knowledge modeling using the ontology technology. Through thecollection, sorting out and analysis of existing ship knowledge, ontology technology is introduced toanalyze ship design knowledge acquisition, expression and modeling. The organization knowledge ontology model, structure of ship product knowledge ontology model and ship design processknowledge ontology model are built, and the relationship between them is established with the helpof Domain Matching matrix.3) Designing a prototype system of the ship collaborative design knowledge service platform.The prototype system is developed using the most popular php language, and the ship collaborativedesign knowledge service platform is developed taking LNMP as the base framework. It’s easy tooperate and maintain. Knowledge service is realized by using knowledge navigation technology,and it mainly includes the knowledge retrieval based on ontology, knowledge map and knowledgepush technology. This is flexible, accurate and rapid, and has high practical value.
