Ontology-based Research On Product-design Knowledge Reuse For Manufacturing Enterprises

The Product design is the soul of the manufacturing enterprises. Study and development on product-design knowledge reuse technique are of great significance, and extensive research has been carried out. However, there still exist lots of unsolvable problems nowadays. For example, as the distribution and the diversity expression of the product-design knowledge, enterprises lack a unified expression pattern of design resources, and can not effectively utilize the design knowledge; as the "differences in the expression" and "term island", designers find it difficult to search the design knowledge which they need.The paper aims at the actual problem in product design process of manufacturing enterprises, such as differences in the expression and difficult in the retrieval of design knowledge, introduces the concept of ontology and studies the reuse problem of design knowledge in product design process.Firstly, the paper analyses the product design process and design knowledge reuse theory of manufacturing enterprises, and presents product design model and product design strategy which is based on the knowledge reuse;Secondly, the paper introduces the concept of ontology, presents a design knowledge reuse method which is based on ontology, including the representation,storage and retrieval processes of the ontology-based design knowledge;Thirdly, the paper studies the ontology-based knowledge retrieval similarity algorithms, and makes some improvement; this algorithm can achieve the enterprises's preliminary goal of design knowledge retrieval;Finally, this paper design a product-design knowledge management system based on ontology, which aims at the enterprises requirement, can achieve the formal expression and storage of enterprises design knowledge, and on this basis can make personalization design knowledge retrieval possible.
