Xiamen Guanyinshan Complex City Functional Organization Research

During the design process of city complex, it is a crucial problem under the present circumstance in which city complex have mushroomed in number that how to combine each function together more reasonably, how to integrate all the functional resources more efficiently, so that their functions could work together and form a high efficient and high tempo miniature city form. This thesis is based on the field research of city complex in Beijing and Xiamen and is divided into six chapters. The first chapter introduces the concept and development of city complex, as well as the research background, thoughts and methods of this thesis. Chapter two to chapter four summarize the functional organization of city complex buildings based on research cases. Among which chapter two classifies and generalizes the functions of city complex, and analyze the reason of functional combination, which lays the ground for further research. Chapter three studies the organization pattern and spatial arrangement of every function in city complex. Chapter four analyzes the organization pattern and spatial arrangement of each internal functional system. Based on the former theoretical conclusion, chapter five analyzes the factors affecting the functional organization and positional distribution of the Guanyin Mountain city complex project in Xiamen. Choose the appropriate model suit for this project from the above conclusion and then go on for further analysis and practice. In the end, as the conclusion part, chapter six summarize the whole thesis and point out the limitation of this research and put forward more questions for further study later on.
