Elastomeric products for primary suspension of railway locomotive and rolling stock are subjected to combined loads. The design of these elastomeric products is influenced by many factors such as the bogie structure, clearances, axle-box locating types, railway line, speed etc. The reliability of the elastomeric products especially the rubber products are widely concerned by engineering fields. And the main method for verifying their fatigue reliability is the bench test. As a result people pay more attention on the load spectrum for fatigue test. This thesis chose a kind of rubber joint on axle box rotary arm of a subway bogie as an object, studying the way of establishing fatigue load spectrum.Aimed at the practical problems in products’R&D and application, two dynamic simulation models of vehicle with two modes of axle box rotary arm were established using SIMPACK. The different loads exerting on rubber joints were compared after the dynamics calculation. The results showed that one of the modes makes the rubber joint bear greater dynamic load. It has fairly big effect on the service life of the product. Based on the practical railway line parameters, the random load of the rubber joint could be worked out using dynamical model of complete vehicle and counted in Rain flow way. Combined with the Accelerated fatigue test principle and Fluctuations center method, a feasibility fatigue load spectrum of rubber joint for axle box rotary arm were complied. To validate the load spectrum, fatigue experiments have been arranged in lab. The normal fatigue testing condition and the fatigue load spectrum were applied on two rubber joints independently. The test results showed that the fatigue load spectrum was far more reasonable by comparison. And the process of load spectrum was high applied value.
