Energy is essential to the survival of human kind. With a mass population, the efficiency of energy development and utilization is low and so is the resource ownership per person is relatively in our country. The railway transportation contains the advantage of low energy consumption, but it also undertakes heavier transportation task and larger traffic volume, which makes the total resource consumption enormous. And the traction of locomotive takes more than half of the energy of the total railway transportation consumption, so there is a considerable significance for reducing the energy consumed by the train through optimizing the locomotive manipulations.This paper mainly discussed the manipulation optimization problem for level-controlled locomotive under timed conditions. Based on analyzing the current situation of energy saving manipulations in both foreign and domestic and combined with the basic principles of traction calculations and train energy saving manipulations, this paper did an analysis of energy saving manipulation strategies under different operation conditions in detail. And based on this, this paper built an optimization model for train energy saving manipulations and designed solution for it. The research of this paper mainly contains several aspects as follows:This paper firstly introduced the basic theories of traction calculations and does an analysis of the stresses the train during operation. And by doing curve fitting to find the missing data about the traction, this paper built equations for calculating the running time and distance of the train. Secondly, this paper analyzed makeups of the total energy consumption during operation and did a research on the basic principles of train energy saving manipulations and discusses the energy saving strategies under different conditions. And then on the basis of combination of optimized operation plans and heuristic method, combining with the train energy saving manipulations strategies and does an optimization through the economic handle position determination, the design of starting and stopping, the maximum balancing speed on the ramp and adjusting calculations on the ramp and so on. A train energy saving manipulations optimum model was built. Finally, by doing a case study, according to the features of train during operation, this paper designed a genetic algorithm and achieves the train energy saving manipulations plan by solving it. And the comparison with the ones already existed proved its rationality.
