With the advancement of urbanization, urban rail transit has become more and more popular in different scale cities with its distinctive features such as lower energy consumption, lower pollution, strong transport capacity and good service. Suspension monorail system is one of the sustainable development of urban rail transit system, which has been widely applied in some developed countries abroad at present. However, it is still in a preliminary exploration stage in our country. The design specifications and standards related to the suspension monorail system are scarce. Moreover, as an important part of suspension monorail system, the structure of the track beam has its uniqueness. It has great theoretical and practical significance in engineering for making the standard specification of track beam and developing the suspension monorail system in our country in the future to try a tentative design of suspension monorail track beam structure optimization and the optimal parameter combination form.This paper summarizes the suspension monorail system development situation at home and abroad, clarifies the meaning of the structure optimization design of suspension monorail system. It introduces the design theory, parameter optimization method and track beam load distribution of the track beam in detail. With the aid of3D software of SolidWorks and the finite element software of ANSYS, this paper has a research on structure optimization design of the straight line and100meters radius curve of track beam. In other words, with the least steel quantity of the suspension monorail system for one kilometer as the objective function, when the quantitative values of the track beam span and reinforcing rib span, as well as the steel plate thickness are different, It satisfy the stability of the steel structure, strength, stiffness and cross-section geometry design requirements at the same time. This paper has done the finite element analysis for the track beam with different parameters. Through the comparison of the finite element analysis results, this paper obtains the optimum combination parameters of both straight line and100meters radius curve of track beam, which is under the premise that meets the design requirements of strength and rigidity. It reduces the track beam steel quantity and the cost of the project.This paper analyzes the deformation of whole beam vertical deflection, the rollover of the running track and the torsion of both straight line and curving track beam. It discusses the effect for the deformation of track beam and the steel quantity of the suspension monorail system for one kilometer with different quantitative values of the track beam span, different reinforcing rib span, as well as the different steel plate thickness under the circumstances of dead load, impact load and lateral guiding force. It provides the basis and reference for engineering application of suspension monorail transportation.
