As one type of monorail transportation, suspended monorail system has many advantages such as high-usage of urban space, low cost and high speed of construction, good security and so on. This system is most widely used in Germany and Japan. However, the study on it in China is still in an initial stage which is lacking of relevant technical specifications and standards. As an important component part of suspended monorail system, the track beam has the functions of train’s bearing, guiding and stabilizing. It can provide certain theoretical support in suspended monorail’s future development in our country to design reasonable section form and optimized structural parameters.This paper clarifies the track beam’s structure characteristics and design principles of suspended monorail system and references Germany small section form and our current relevant norms and standards, on which it has a tentative structure design of the track beam including determining the cross-sectional structure and dimensions, putting forward the checking standard of the stability, strength and rigidity and designing the type of load and loading area of the track beam. Using the discrete comparative method and 3D software SolidWorks and finite element software ABAQUS, this paper researches the optimization design of suspended monorail’s track beam structure for both straight and curve whose plane curve radius is 100m, and that is using different values of the span of track beam L(m), the steel plate thickness t(mm) and the span of reinforcing rib l(m) to best design the structure of the track beam given that the least 1 km’s steel is used in the objective function on the premise that all the current standards, specifications and experience home and abroad are met. By the analysis this paper has gotten the following conclusions:①tthe optimized structure parameters of straight track beam are L=30m, t=14mm,1=1.4m;②the optimized structure parameters of curve track beam are L=28m, t=12mm,1=1.4m.At the same time, this paper focuses on the stress and the global and local deformation rule of straight and curve track beam. As for the straight one, a vertical bending deformation occurs under the action of gravity load, vertical live load and impact load. The running track of the beam not only produces a vertical bending deformation, there is also a slight local rollover deformation. Except the above-mentioned deformation, another tiny torsional deformation occurs on the curve track beam because a lateral force of train guide wheels are acting on it. This paper concludes the influence rules with the values of span of track beam L(m), steel plate thickness t(mm) and span of reinforcing rib l(m) through comparison.This paper is more inclined to the structure design and deformation analysis of track beam. As the continuously introduce and development of the suspended monorail system are proceeding, this study will must enrich the research contents of relevant area.
