The application of the co-phase traction power supply technology can meet the requirement of power supply system and railway departments, it has a great advantage than traditional traction supply system in terms of technology and economic, provides a theoretical basis for the realization of the high-speed and heavy-loading track, it has a very important significance for research. On the basis of co-phase traction supply successful test in meishan, it is more practical significance to further improve design method of co-phase traction supply system for engineering.The paper reference electrified railway traction supply system design manual to design co-phase traction supply system, paper research work is mainly for traction transformer capacity design, choice of co-phase traction supply device, the optimization of traction transformer optimization with compensation device. Firstly, considering to the differences of feeder current calculation in co-phase traction supply and traditional traction supply, analysis the feeder calculation method of co-phase current power traction system, and design traction transformer capacity.In this paper, assume the load is certain, without considering the specific connection form of traction transformer connection form, and according to the primary structure differences of co-phase power balance transformation device, we respectively discuss the balanced transformation principle of four schemes which is balance transformer connected back-to-back structure, non-equilibrium transformer connected back-to-back structure, balance transformer connected three bridge arm structure and non-equilibrium transformer connected three bridge arm structure. It is derived the general expressions of compensation current and the port complex power in four cases, discuss and analysis the traction side port capacity and the compensation device capacity. We discuss the relationship between the minimum compensation device capacity and compensation degree, analysis the optimal model that combine transformer connection form with back-to-back structural conversion device to build co-phase power supply system.Finally, according to the new electrified railways design data and the measured data of the existing line, design traction transformer capacity of co-phase traction power supply system, and design main connection of traction substation.
