With our country determine the development direction of railway to be "high-speed and heavy-haul", the burden of railway lines also increase accordingly, the maintenance of railway put forward higher requirements, that is higher requirements to large truck maintenance machine. Now the research of large truck maintenance machine is not as deep as common railway vehicles, mainly to use other common standards because of in both structural static strength and fatigue strength does not have special design specifications and test standards, in some degree, it cause to be thoughtless about the particularity of its using conditions, at the same time, the structural design is unreasonable. According to the need and development of large truck maintenance machine in our country, and think about the differences between large truck maintenance machine and ordinary railway vehicle, decided to do a study on the main carbody of a dynamic track stabilizer.Base on the latest fatigue research of mechanical structure fatigue strength evaluation at home and abroad, the paper is to achieve fatigue life assessment of a dynamic track stabilizer’ carbody with the Multi-Body dynamic simulation, the finite element method and BS EN1993-1-9:2005"Eurocode3:Design of steel structures-partl-9:Fatigue"(here in after Eurocode3). Firstly, the dynamic track stabilizer dynamic model was established using the SIMPACK software according to the actual structural parameters, evaluate its dynamic performance based on GB/T17426-1998" Dynamic performance evaluation and test of special vehicles and machines on the railway"(here in after GB/T17426), the results all meet the requirements. Secondly, do the strength analysis and compare according to TB/T1335-1996" railway vehicle identification strength design and experimental specifications " and BS EN12663-2:2010" Railway applications-Structural requirements of railway vehicle bodies Part2: Freight wagons", the results meet the requirements both. Thirdly, formulated42kinds of dynamics simulation condition include the running status and working condition under the study of the dynamic track stabilizer, then get the load time history of main carbody used for next analysis. Fourthly, set the quasi-static stress calculation condition of the main carbody according to the dynamic simulation conditions, then calculate in the ANSYS software. Set the fatigue strength grading of main carbody based on Eurocode3, the fatigue life evaluation was done using the S-N curves of corresponding FAT levels by nCode software. Finally, results show that the fatigue life of main carbody used for dynamic track stabilizer meet the requirement. The above fatigue life prediction method based on the virtual prototype can predict the stress distribution at the design stage and provide the theory instruction for the structural optimization and the anti-fatigue design of the main carbody.
