This paper aims to research and analysis power system frequency dynamics and the primary frequency control for system safe and stable, making the complex power system primary frequency capacity get a reasonable configuration and different generator allocate of primary frequency capacity, improve the power quality of system.This paper describes the frequency characteristics of power system, focusing on analysis the power system frequency static characteristics and dynamic frequency characteristics, simulate the frequency dynamic process, analysis the factors affecting the frequency dynamic process. Then describes primary frequency theory and each component simulation model of power system, research and analysis different types of generators participate primary frequency characteristics. Finally establish a model with multi-machine power system according to the different types generator primary frequency characteristics, optimize primary frequency capacity allocation strategy, analysis advantages and disadvantages of different types of generators participating in the primary frequency, summed up the primary frequency characteristics of multi-machine power system.Frequency dynamic process of singel system model assume a link between the generator is closely, through the derivation the frequency of single system model dynamic equations can obtain its dynamic frequency curve is an exponential decay time constant fixed curve. Frequency dynamic process of multi-machine system is mainly for the unbalanced power system, the node frequency of different location because of the disturbance and regulate with online units would occurrence different dynamic process. Simple power system frequency dynamic curve is obtained by iterative calculation, simulation frequency dynamic process curve was been analysis affects the size of the active power shortfall, the load frequency characteristics and the system inertia time constant.Analysis Primary frequency characteristics with different types of generators, according to the generator model, governor model, load and network structure model, using Matlab simulation platform to build three machine nine-node system system, the difference between thermal power and hydropower units involved in the system primary frequency regulation, the research and analysis involving different nodes, different capacities and different operation modes.Consider the different types of generators to participate in system primary frequency and primary frequency capacity optimization problem can be described as:power loss and total primary frequency capacity of the system have been given, in the case of constraints for system operation, through improved particle swarm optimization algorithm to allocate primary frequency capacity among different types generators, so that the best overall performance indicators of frequency change process of the power system is smaller. The other hand, the simulation model through multi-machine primary frequency system, the ability to maximum withstand load disturbance with given the frequency deviation and primary frequency capacity configuration optimization.Complex power system is necessary to analyze many types of generators participating in a grid primary frequency regulation characteristics, and coordinate the primary frequency capacity of different generators participate in the system primary frequency, it is a critical issue for improving the security and stability of power systems, and optimize system primary frequency capacity configuration can not only reduce the loss of energy, and better able to improve power quality, improve security and stability of the entire power system.
