In order to construct ecological civilization, improve the ecological environment, thedevelopment of strong and smart grid based on the new energy technologies, informationtechnologies, network technologies and Intelligent control technologies is the best way topromote the reform of energy, achieve the smart city. The smart grid planning of StateGrid Corporation have made it clear that we should focus on improving the reliability ofpower, while strengthening the intelligent control of electrical equipment. Vacuum circuitbreakers (VCB) as one of the most important equipment in the power system, manipulatingthem has an important impact to the safe and stable operation of the power system.Researching on the control technology of vacuum circuit breakers with permanentmagnetic actuator(PMA), to improve operational performance and intelligent level of VCBlaid the foundation for improving operational performance and intelligent level of VCB.This paper focuses on the needs of control technologies of the power system, propose anew control method of PMA, and design the control system, to improve the stability ofVCB and realize the controllable of PMA during the process of operating VCB, thuspromote the realization of synchronous closing control technologies and improve theintelligence level of the power system.In paper, we analyzes the working principle,the characteristics of excitation coilcurrent and controllability of PMA, determines the control method of PWM.During theprocess of operating VCB,the control system detects output signals of the sensors, anduses double-loop control method to control PMA, ultimately, achieves tracking thereference stroke curve of the contact and the reference current curve in exciting coil. In thispaper,12kV VCB with PMA is regarded as the controlled object, a control system basedon DSP is designed.The results show that the control system designed with the new control method couldeffectively control stroke of the contact and current in exciting coil, ensure thecharacteristics of the contact in a controlled state, and improve the robustness and accuracyof the control system, and then the time deviation of open or close VCB could be limit to±0.3ms.
