Vibration and noise are important indicators to measure performance of motors, anddirectly relates to the quality and longevity of motor. Permanent Magnet SynchronousMotor (PMSM) is a new and high efficiency specialty motor, PMSM is widely used. Butthe research of vibration and electromagnetic noise of PMSM is rare from now on.Therefore, this paper studies the vibration and electromagnetic noise of six-phase PMSM.It mainly divided into the following parts:Firstly, researching modal analysis of the chassis and stator of PMSM, using finiteelement method to calculate the natural frequencies of cooling rids, covers, feet andjunction box of PMSM. And obtaining the variation rule of natural frequency which existsin each parts of the motor. At the same time, changing the outer diameter and axial lengthof stator, acquiring the variation rule of natural frequency after altering the parameters ofstator.Secondly, taking advantage of analytical method to calculate the electromagneticforces in the gap air which act on the stator inner diameter. Using the finite elementmethod to compute the vibration and electromagnetic noise of motor which is generated byelectromagnetic forces as the loads and identifying the sources of vibration andelectromagnetic noise. Soon after, computing the electromagnetic noise of a20kW PMSMby finite element and studying the noise which motor surface radiates based on surfacevibration method.Finally, the article describes the noise influence which generated by the differentstructural parameters of motor and with a20kW PMSM as the studying object. Accordingto comparing the simulation results of electromagnetic noise which generated by changingthe structure parameters of motor including angle cut of permanent magnet, the thicknessof permanent magnet, the slot width of stator, the tooth top of stator and rotor staticeccentricity, finding out methods of suppressing the electromagnetic noise by optimizestructure parameters of PMSM.
