In the course of human survival and development, energy is undoubtedly an important material basis, and therefore energy has become the focus of the world’s political, economic, military, and diplomatic concerns is inevitable. But with a continuous consumption of energy, and its reserves are less and less, and now various countries around the world are increasingly emphasis on renewable energy research and development, in order to deal with the energy crisis is constantly worsening. Renewable energy refers to the energy in addition to conventional external nature can continue to regeneration, sustainable use, inexhaustible energy resources, including wind, solar, biomass, geothermal, ocean energy and other energy resources. The advantages of wind energy are very large, such as the huge reserves, the application of technology is relatively mature, relatively low cost, simple process and pollution problems rarely use other features, which will make the wind stand out in many renewable energy. In the process of wind turbine making wind energy into mechanical energy, by the action of the wind and the rotation of the wind turbine is its main parts, so the structure of the wind turbine and its position in the gas stream we usually divided into two categories of wind turbine:horizontal axis wind turbine and vertical axis wind turbine. The horizontal axis wind turbine is a traditional wind turbine model,its technology is confidential mature compared to vertical axis wind turbine, production volume,it has become the mainstream of the wind turbine models. However, due to its various congenital deficiencies (such as start wind speed is high, big noise, poor wind resistance), making its further development was inhibited, while the vertical axis wind turbine starts with low wind speed, low aerodynamic noise, by wind better performance characteristics, so people gradually began to focus attention to the vertical axis wind turbine, national wind power researchers are also working to develop more new forms of vertical axis wind turbine. In the process of vertical axis wind turbine research and development to improve, we have been able to make better use of wind energy resources as the goal, so the wind turbine output power has become more concerned. In summary, this paper, a computational fluid aspects of knowledge, researches and analysis for the calculation of the average small vertical axis wind turbine power.First, the concept of vertical axis wind turbine and its associated power calculation of basic theories are discussed, on this basis, the use of computational fluid theory and the method of calculation of Matlab software programming to perform a specific calculation of the average power of small vertical axis wind turbine S-type resistance, and get more accurate results. And put forward in the process of calculation and analysis of the specific method of calculating vertical axis wind turbine and its associated power calculation formulas to use, according to the results obtained, we get the relationship curve between wind speed and the average power and wind energy utilization factor.Then, the application of computational fluid dynamics software ANSYS Fluent resistance type of convoluted power vertical axis wind turbines were simulated. Simplification of the two-dimensional model of wind turbine and complete division of the flow field of the grid, set the boundary conditions specific assignment, start simulation. In the calculation process and leaves residual torque coefficient being monitored, get residuals curve and torque monitoring curve. Get specific torque M, according to the power calculation formula P=2π×π/60×M, we can get the theoretical value of the average power P.Finally, in order to verify the correctness of these applications Fluent software for vertical axis wind turbine power analog computing, we designed and assembled a set of power detection system. Measured by collecting the experimental value of wind power machines and computer simulation results do contrast, in order to verify the simulation method for wind turbine power correctness. According to the the experimental results,it shows the method is correct and feasible.
