Since the20th century, with the rapid development of middle and high voltageelectronic inverter technology, high precision servo system and super high performancerare earth permanent magnetic materials, NdFeB rare earth permanent magnet synchronousmotors with super-high efficient has received attention of the various production of theindustry under the national energy saving environment. Compared with other conventionalmotors, permanent magnet synchronous motor has a greater advantage on reducing thevolume and the consumption of heat power loss and increasing efficiency of it. So, theseyears, developing a permanent magnet synchronous motor with the features of wide speedadjusting range, great mechanical properties, long service life, low noise and vibration hasbeen domestic and overseas scholars and experts unswerving pursuit of the goal. Animportant indicator which assesses the quality and performance of permanent magnetsynchronous motor is its noise and vibration values. And, in the servo system, lowvibration levels help to improve the machining accuracy of the product.In this paper, the author combine inside with outside of the status of noise andvibration characteristics on permanent magnet synchronous motor, mainly study thevibration and noise characteristics of Surface-Mounted permanent magnet synchronousmotor with similar number of poles and slots. The electromagnetic vibration and noiseresponse could be calculated by calculating the air gap magnetic field of the permanentmagnet motor.And the magnetic field, structure field, the sound field of permanent magnetsynchronous motor could be calculated and analyzed by using finite element method.First, the stator and rotor side field of the permanent magnet synchronous motor wereanalyzed. For permanent magnet synchronous motor, the noise and vibration sources areMaxwell force acting on the stator tooth surface. And Maxwell force and flux density has acorresponding functional relationship. In this paper, starting from the analytical expression,the radial flux density analytical expressions is derived. Then the radial flux density ofpermanent magnet synchronous motor was calculated by using the finite element method.Its harmonics distribution and spectral distribution characteristics was calculated by Fourier transformation. Next, the electromagnetic force wave’s number and frequencydistribution characteristics of permanent magnet synchronous motor were analyzed.Secondly, structure modal of the permanent magnet synchronous motor was analyzed.The natural frequency of stator and the whole machine were calculated by using the finiteelement method.Changing the natural frequency of the motor by using backplaneconnection was proposed. Then the critical speed of the motor was accounted.Finally, parametric analyses on the noise characteristics of permanent magnetsynchronous motor were conducted.
