Study On Aesthetic Expression Of City Building Color

Along with the rapid development of China’s city construction and architectural commercialization, the architectural modeling in cities has become rich and varied, and various types of buildings have gradually got rid of the single color. Even so, the current architecture colors still couldn’t meet the increasing aesthetic requirements of the people. Architectural color, as an important factor of urban landscape, makes a direct affect on people’s visual and spiritual experience, so the in-depth study of architectural aesthetics of color plays an important role in riching the vocabulary to express the performance of construction and improving the quality of urban environment.The thesis described the basic theory and research status at home and abroad, clarified the specific role of color in architecture combining with typical examples, and analyzed the evolution and causes of the typical colors of traditional architecture. In this paper, the author put forward the principles of the aesthetic expression of urban building color, including the territorial principle, the organizational principles of colors, and the selected principles of architectural surface decoratio materials. The thesis tried to provide scientific and operational gist for the color design of the architecture and the urban color planning.
