Research On The Features Of Traditional Village Styles In Yanqing Area

Yanqing area is located in the throat hub leading to Beijing, Inner Mongolia and Shanxiprovince and the first important town outside the Juyongguan and the Badaling Great Wall,the northwest gateway to guarding the capital, but also the ancent battlegroud. The uniqueculture of the northern frontier and the special mission of protecting the capital created aunique morphological characteristics of Yanqing traditional villages, and after the baptism ofthe war before liberation and the rapid econimic development after liberation, the style oftraditional villages in Yanqing area has undergone tremendous changes. Based on times sitereseaches on18villages of Yanqing area, by introducing the typological approach, throughsthe “surface” structure–the identification and classification of village flat morphology andspatial organization to reach the “deep” structure-summarizing the types, that theunderstanding of the “collective memory” of traditioanal villages in the northern frontierculture.The first chapter of the article overviews the development and protection status oftraditional villages, proposing the purpose and significance of the reseach, proposing theanalysis methods on traditional villages under the typology theory by combing the currenttheory and practice reseach status in domestic and forgein. The second chapter combs thegenerate environment and development background of Yanqing traditional villages, revealingthe generate causes and development context and categories according to typology ideological.The third chapter briefly describes the reseach process of Yanqing traditional villages andproposes issues that arise in the heritage of traditional village style through the analysis of theresult of the survey on status. The forth chapter takes the typological methods from threelevels of village environment, public space and residential courtyards, systematic analysisesthe organization, terms of plane shapes, elements and spatial sequence and extracts the styleprototypes of traditional villages. The last chapter explores the inheritance strategies andmethods of village styles based on the village prototypes to achieve the prototypesconversion.
