Inner Mongolia is one of the main producing areas of potato in China, and with the speeding up of industrialization process in Inner Mongolia, the soil has been seriously polluted by heavy metals and becomes more and more heavily, as a result, more attention has been drawn on the issue of potato safety-production. Effects of Sodium silicate, calcium magnesium phosphate, sodium humate and organic conditioners on the growth and development of two potato varieties,"Kexin No.l" and "Favorite" under cadmium stress were studied by pot experiments. The results indicated that:1. Under Cd stress with50mg/kg concentration, the plant height of "Favorite" was increased by using calcium magnesium phosphate, while the plant height and leaf area of "Favorite" and the stem diameter of "Kexin No.1" were increased by using organic conditioner. The yield per plant and tuber dry weight and total biomass of "Kexin No.1" were increased by using sodium silicate and organic fertilizer, the yield per plant and tuber dry weight and total biomass of "Favorite" were increased by using four conditioners.2. With the increment of Cd concentration, the alleviation effects of sodium silicate, calcium magnesium phosphate, sodium humate and organic fertilizer on "Kexin No.1" and "Favorite" were enhanced. The resistance of "Kexin No.1" and "Favorite" to Cd stress with20mg/kg concentration was the highest by using organic fertilizer. Under Cd stress with50mg/kg concentration, the resistance of "Kexin No.1" was the highest by organic fertilizer, while the resistance of "Favorite" was the highest by calcium magnesium phosphate.3. Under Cd stress with20mg/kg concentration, the pH of substrate in which "Kexin No.l" grow were decreased by using sodium humate and organic fertilizer, while the pH of substrate in which "Favorite" grow were increased by using sodium silicate, calcium magnesium phosphate, sodium humate. Under Cd stress with50mg/kg concentration, the pH of substrate in which "Kexin No.1" and "Favorite" tuber were increased by using four fertilizers.4. Under Cd stress with20mg/kg concentration, the content of reducing sugar of "Favorite" tuber and total potassium content of "Kexin No.1" tuber was increased by using sodium silicate, the content of starch of "Favorite" tuber and the content of reducing sugar of "Kexin No.1" tuber were increased by using calcium magnesium phosphate, the content of reducing sugar and total phosphorus of "Favorite" tuber was increased by using sodium humate. Under Cd stress with50mg/kg concentration, the starch content of "Kexin No.1" tuber was increased by using sodium silicate, the starch content of "Favorite" tuber were increased by using calcium magnesium phosphate, sodium humate and organic fertilizer, the content of reducing sugar of "Kexin No.1" were increased by using sodium humate and organic fertilizer.
