In this study, the growth effect and metabolism mechanism of feeding water hyacinth silage diets on goats were revealed by Nylon-bag experiment、digestion metabolism experiment and growth experiment. This study provided massive theory basis for the using in the production. Three kinds of parts were included in this study.Experiment1:This research was conducted to study the rumen degradation characteristics of water hyacinth water hyacinth residue and other forage grasses in goats. Four rumen-cannulated goats (Boer goats xXuhuai goats) were used to evaluate the rumen degradation characteristics of12forages. The results showed that the rumen degeneration rate of various nutrients of water hyacinth is higher than the water hyacinth dregs’in the different time as a whole. Compared with other coarse fodder, Water hyacinth’s nutritional value is over the medium level. After extrusion dehydration, the water hyacinth dregs’ nutritional value still could achieve the medium level.Experiment2:This research was conducted to study the effect of feeding different Water hyacinth silage diets on the rate of digestion and metabolism of goat. For this purpose,4male goats (Boer goatsxXuhuai goats)were used in a4x4Latin square design at four treatments with group control、Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ Silage diets in the TMR diet. The maize straw silage was adopted as control group and the forage to concentrate ratio of each group was1:1in each group. The experiment may be disassembled into four stages. There were10days and5days in preliminary trial and formal period respectively on each stage. The results of the experiment:when feeding group I diet, The nutrient use effect of goats was remarkable to get the level of feeding group control. GroupⅡ and Ⅲ are relatively bad. They are lower than the nutrient use value of group control.Experiment3:This research was conducted to study the growth effect of goats(Boer goatsxXuhuai goats)with feeding different Water hyacinth silage diets. For this purpose,24male goats (Boer goatsxXuhuai goats)were used at four treatments with group control、Ⅰ、 Ⅱ、Ⅲ Silage diets in the TMR diet. There were six goats at each group.Three kinds of silage diets:I Water hyacinth70%, Straw20%, Vinegar dregs10%, moisture content70%;Ⅱ Water hyacinth dregs78%, Straw12%, Vinegar dregs10%, moisture content68%;Ⅲ Water hyacinth dregs77%, maize meal15.8%, Vinegar dregs7.2%, moisture content69%, Three kinds of diets were ensiled for30days.Group control was chinese wildrye. The forage to concentrate ratio of each group was1:1in each group. To observe the healthy condition of the experimental sheep. To weigh the sheep in each group and record feed intake、daily weight gain and the ratio of feed to gain before feeding at15d、30d、45d、60d.The results showed that goats could eat feed normally and the daily weight gain of goats is higher remarkably than group control (P<0.05) when adding water hyacinth or water hyacinth dregs in the TMR diets. The daily weight gain of various treatment groups were more than20g compared to the group control after feeding60d (P<0.05). The ratio of feed to gain was not remarkable difference compared to the group control when adding water hyacinth or water hyacinth dregs in the TMR diets to feed goats60d later.
