The pteridophyte which belongs to a natural group in the biosphere is also called the fernplant. Now,there are12000kinds of pteridophytes in the world,and about2600in them growsin China. Although they do not have the beautiful flowers and fruits,it can cheer us up due toits different shape,strange attitude and green corlor.Because of the causes above this group hasthe designation of on folwers of beauty. According to the materials,it plays a important role inthe areas of catering, pharmaceuticals, the ornamental industry.But researchs about it arefew,the aim of the study is to provide basis materials for pterudophytes`development andutilizationThe content of the test is the relative investigative and research work about pteridophytein Taibaishan Nature Reserve of Shaanxi Province,and it has three parts——Habitatinvestogation,floristic analysis and the evaluation of ornamental Nature. The first part ishabitat investigation and study on pteridophytes in Taibaishan(below2000m)to know thenatural conditions that they need.The investigation mainly uses the method of combiningfield investigation and the looking up documents,and makes the analysis on habitat ofpteridophtes in in Taibaishan(below2000m)after studying.In the end,the relative resultsshowed that there are28genus and61species in Taibaishan,and there are some relationshipbetween the distribution of the group and the factors of the habitat such as soil,elevation,terrain and so on:(1)The pteridophytes in there is mainly the type of wide altitudedistribution.(2) Most pteridophytes can grows well in the soil of pH6.5.(3)The group like theshade and humid environment more.(4) The main habitat of pteridophytes are the rock andundergrowth.(5) The tilt and position of slope also have some slight affections to the plant andso on. The second part content is the pteridophyte flora in Taibaishan Nature Reserve ofShaanxi Province aiming to probe into the basis feature and geographical kinship there.Thefloras of pteridophyte inTaibaishan are studied, and the main results are:(1)This kind ofplants belongs to21families,39generas and110species,at the same time the dominantfamilies and generals are very obvious. For example,the dominant families are mainly Athyriaceae,Dryopteridaceae, Polypodiaceae and the generals are Adiantum,Selaginella,Asplenium, Polystichum, Lepisorus and Dryopteris.(2)The families geogrophical elements isthe world distribution and it accounts for47.6%of all in this area and the generalgeogrophical elements which occupying about58.3%of the total covers the temperatecomposition,at last the species’ with the proportion of48.2%in all are mainly dominanted bytemperate composition.(3)About the geographical kinship,the areas that have the closelyrelated are Hualongshan in Shaanxi and Funiushan in Hubei, less closely with Tangjiahe,Wulushan, Songshan, Maojinba, Shennongjia,and have a distant relation to Hupingshan,Qilianshan, ultimately,the farhermost one is Nanhuashan. The last test is the evaluation onOrnamental Nature and landscape application of pteridophytes in Taibaishan to provide theprofessional basis for garden.This part mainly uses the method of Dephi to make the relativeevaluation on the32pteridophytes which have the higher ornamental nature in Taibaishan onthe basis of investigation.And the result shows that the species with the highest ornamentalcharacteristics are respectively Dryopteris rosthorni(i0.457),Matteuccia intermedia(0.474),Ophioglossuum vulgatum(0.502),Gymnocarpium jessoense(0.534). Hope that it willprovide the scientific and reliable basic materials for the resource protection and rationaldevelopment of pteridophyte.
