| Wild ornamental plants are excellent germplasm resources and valuable materials in modern garden ornamental plant breeding. Our country have abundant resources in wild ornamental plants. However, the exploitation and utilization is remained to be further researched. Guangdong Province Nankun Mountain National Nature Reserve is a place with superior natural environment conditions, where there are abundant wild ornamental plant resources. This place was chosen as a research area and was made study and comprehensive analysis as well as evaluation on its wild ornamental plant resources, in the hope of providing a scientific basis for the protection and utilization of these resources. The main results are as follows:(1) Through a comprehensive survey, Nankun Mountain Nature Reserve has abundant resources in wild ornamental plants, which are identified and screened 1060 kinds of wild ornamental plants, belonging to 187 families 597 generas. The families are 94.44% in The total number of of wild vascular plants, while the generas are 83.61% and species are 69.24%. There are 120 fern species in wild ornamental plants, including 35 families 63 generas. The gymnosperms have 9 species, including 6 families and 7 genera. There are 931 angiosperms species with 146 families 527 genera(including dicotyledon and Monocotyledon. The dicotyledon has 787 kinds of species with 131 families and 425 generas, while the monocotyledon have 144 kinds of species with 15 families 102 genera). The dominant families which are more than 30 species are Gramineae, Rubiaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Lauraceae, Orchidaceae and Fabaceae; The second dominant generas(species number ? 10) are Ilex, Rhododendron, Ficus, Callicarpa, Viola, Eurya, Castanopsis, Ardisia and Symplocos.(2) Accordance to the life forms of wild ornamental plants, it can be divided into 5 categories, including ornamental ferns, ornamental bamboo, ornamental vine, ornamental tree and ornamental herbs. Among them, there are 120 kinds of ornamental fern, while the others are 6 species, 87 species, 542 species and 305 species respectively.(3) There are many kinds of garden use in wild ornamental plants. For example, border trees(136 species), ground cover plants(121 species), hedge plants(74 species), vertical greening plants(59 species), herbaceous flowers(47 species), Courtyard greening plants(153 species), bedding plants(90 species), shade trees(42 species), indoor plants(73 species).(4) Method of AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) is chosen to establish system of plant landscape application index evaluation in wild ornamental plants from the aspects of aesthetics, biology and ecology, the second indexes consist of eight indicators, including tree form or plant type, leaf and leaf color, flower shape and color, fruit shape and fruit color, breeding characteristic, speed nature, poor resistance and disease resistance. The system evaluates the importance of each index in the evaluation system of values by comparing to each other and combining with different expert group calculated decision matrix. From the system of plant landscape application index evaluation in wild ornamental plants, there are 70 kinds development and utilization of high value species chosen from the 108 kinds of are(I and II), which routed to the top 14 plants are Pyrus calleryana, Rhododendron moulmainense, Rhododendron simsii, Desmos chinensis, Ixora chinensis, Rhododendron latoucheae, Dendrobenthamia hongkongensis, Diospyros morrisiana, Rhodomyrtus tomentosa, Polyspora axillaris, Enkianthus quinque, Viburnum odoratissimum, Adina pilulifera and Melastoma affine. Single index is ranked by evaluating leaf shape and leaf color, flower shape and color, fruit shape and fruit color, the result show that the best view shape plant is Fokienia hodginsii in108 species of ornamental plants. The best foliage plants are Liquidambar formosana and Sapium discolor. The best flower plants are Prunus campanulata and Rhododendron moumainense. The best ornamental fruit plants is Ardisia crenata. |
