In winter time from2011to2012,we randomly designed38transects total length190km according to habitat Wupao forestry farm of Yingchun bureau in the eastern forest of the Wandashan Mountains.The length was5km and width was400m each transect covering all kinds of habitats.The density was calculated based on the footprint information and other auxiliary traces of wild boar(Sus scrofa). On each line transect, we designed large sample plots (10m*10m) at500m intervals, and each large sample plot was partitioned into five small sample plots (2m*2m), so did it when wild boar movement traces were found.The total number of large sample plots was380and the small was1950.We collected the habitat factors and datas included:sample plot GPS,elevation,hiding level,vegetation type,canopy cover,slope position,aspect,slope level,disturbance distance from residents;the averge diameter at breast height and density of Padus racemosa, the bio mass unit area of Aralia elata,Equisetum hiemale and Carexspp the harvest amount of Pinus koraiensis, Juglans mandshurica and Corylus heterophlla. Nutritional carrying capacity of wild boar was determined and calculated by total energy converted from integrating data of crude protein, fiber and crude fat comparing every wild boar needed in winter. Per gram crude protein and fiber euqals to16.74kJ and crude fat37.66kJ respectively.Results showed that the population of wild boar distributed in Wupao forest farm was73+19with population density0.4737/km2, larger than years before.The frequency of movements of wild boar in different habitat type showed that wild boar preferred mixed coniferous broad leaved forest(59.7%), hiding level in25-50%(47.8%),canopy cover>50%(43.3%)ã€medium slope position (47.8%)ã€sunny slope (68.7%)ã€gentle slope (46.3%)ã€distance distance from residents>4.5km (46.3%)〠elevation150m-300m (49.3%).Wild boar avoided farmland,abrupt slope and the habitat that near resident in1.5km distance.The habitat quality evaluation result was that the high suitability for wild boar was4866.23hm2, with31.56%percentage in research area; medium suitability4599.49hm2, with29.83%percentage; low suitability3558.71hm2, with23.08%percentage; unsuitable2394.57hm2, with15.53%percentage.So we got the spatial carrying capacity of wild boar in research area371±65and the density of population was2.41±0.42/km2at this level.The nutritional carrying capacity of wild boar was236±7based on the energy of habitat supplied3.47272×106MJ and the energy needed by wild boar in winter time14677.698±409.92MJ.Comparing the spatial and nutritional carrying capacity,we concluded the spatial resourse was better than the food resource. We predicted that the pupolation of wild boar would be limited by food resource if it kept growing. |
