At present, the development and utilization situation of bamboo resources in Guangning isthat the utilization pattern of most of the bamboo forest is still mainly based on timber stand. The operation of bamboo forest was extensive and the productivity was low. People didn’tharvest bamboo shoots and the mortality of bamboo was high. These factors were bad for thegrowth of the bamboo forest and increasing the economic benefit of the bamboo forest, andalso had created the resources waste. These questions urgently needed to be studied. This paper aimed at these questions, based on the study of biological characteristic ofBambusa textilis McClure and Arundinaria amabilis McClure, had researched two aspectsbelow. First, study on exploitation and cultivation techniques of Bambusa textilis McClure forculm and shoot-producing. Biological characteristics, including morphological characteristics, geographic distribution, ecological habits, development rule of structure, shooting and theheight growth rhythm, had been researched. Nutritional components of bamboo shoots hadbeen analyzed to compare among4excellent bamboo species used for bamboo shoots.Experience of cultivation techniques had been summarized to improve management mode.Second, study on exploitation and cultivation techniques of Pseudosasa amabilis (McClure)Keng for culm and shoot-producing. Biological characteristics, including morphologicalcharacteristics, growth and development rules and population growth dynamics, had beenresearched. Nutritional components of bamboo shoots had been analyzed and cultivationtechniques had been researched. The results of the analysis of nutrient content in bamboo shoots of Bambusa textilisMcClure showed: the contents of the total soluble solid (TSS) and the total sugar in Bambusatextilis McClure were the highest compared with other sympodial bamboo species in the sameplace; the content of crude protein was only0.2%lower than Dendrocalamus brandisii (Munro)Kurz; the content of Crude Fiber was moderate. So the bamboo shoots of Bambusa textilis McClure was a good food that was rich of nutritious. The results of adjusting the structure ofbamboo forest and investigation of bamboo shoots showed: under intensive management, theaverage quantity of bamboo shoots, diameter of adult bamboo, quantity of digging bambooand weight of single bamboo were all increased while the mortality of bamboo wassignificantly reduced. The annual average output was10855yuan per hectare under intensivemanagement, more than under extensive management. The net added value was more than4500yuan per hectare. The results of the analysis of nutrient content in bamboo shoots of Pseudosasa amabilisMcClure showed: the content of total protein was low, but its moisture content and the contentof TSS were higher than Phyllostachys elegana McClure, Arundinaria acerba W.T.Lin andIndosasa suavis W.T.Lin et Z.J.Feng; the content of Crude Fiber was moderate and it was agood vegetable with low-fat; the total content of free amino acid was slightly lower thanPhyllostachys elegana McClure and significantly higher than Arundinaria acerba W.T.Lin andIndosasa suavis W.T.Lin et Z.J.Feng; the content of essential amino acids was also high, whichwas significantly higher than Benincasa hispida (Thunb.) Cogn., Brassica pekinensis (Lour.)Rupr. and Daucus carota var. sativa Hoffm.; the bamboo shoots were rich in flavor amino acidand sweet amino acid, this was one of the main causes of its good taste. The results of adjustingthe structure of bamboo forest and investigating of bamboo shoots showed: every indicatorachieved the same effect with Bambusa textilis McClure. The annual average output was17288yuan per hectare under intensive management, more than under extensive management. Thenet added value was more than4500yuan per hectare. The yield of bamboo shoots willincrease while the level of intensive management improves, so it has a great potential ineconomic benefit.
