Forest Eulecanium gigantean has been taken a place in the China Forestry PlantQuarantine Objects. It spreaded into Xinjiang at the beginning of1970s.It was found for thefirst time in Hotan in1980,and in1983it was found in Jujube seedlings of Kashi area.In orderto provide effective prevention measures, conducting the survey about the occurrence rules ofthe pests.Conducting the adaptability analysis of Eulecanium gigantean in April2012toOctober2012.And the test sites was set in Xinjiang Yili Prefecture, Bazhou, Aksu Prefecture,Kashgar, Hotan. The main findings are as follows:1. Understanding the biological characteristics of Eulecanium gigantean clearly: lifehistory, habits, behavioral characteristics, occurrence and survival rates were included.2. The field investigations indicated that Eulecanium gigantean distributed in XinjiangIli Kazak Autonomous Prefecture (Huocheng) Mongol Autonomous Prefecture Bayinguoleng(Korla City, Luntai, Qiemo County, and static County) Aksu Prefecture (Kuqa County,Shaya),Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture (City atushi, Akto County), Kashi (Kashi City, Bachu County,Jiashi County, Yecheng, Zep County, Shache County, EikichiSha County, Shufu County,Shule County) and Hotan region (the city of Hotan, Hotan County, Hill County, leather, MoyuCounty, Lop, Cele, Yutian County, Minfeng).3. Using the GARP modeling combined with the the ArcGIS spatial analysis of moduleto predict the potential geographic distribution of the pests. The potential suitable area ofEulecanium gigantean in Xinjiang is very widely. Except Altay region, Tacheng region, mostareas of Yili Prefecture,Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, the surrounding area of UrumqiCity, and Taklimakan Desert of the southern border, the most areas of the other states inXinjiang are potential suitable areas of Eulecanium gigantean.4. Conducting risk assessment analysis of Eulecanium gigantean in Xinjiang to obtainthe risk rank of the pest(R=1.77). Formulating scientifical and reasonable control measures toprovide the scientific basis for risk management strategies of Eulecanium gigantean inXinjiang, to implement effective management and to contain the spread of the pest.
