At present, the peach gummosis has widely occurred in the south of China, which relates closely with the local region environment, variety, cultivation management. The disease is one of the important factors that affect the health of peach industry development. Production is still lack of effective method of prevention and cure. This study inoculated one-year born lignified twigs of peach cultivar’Spring Snow’ with ten isolates (JMB-122, XG-52, SZ-422, JMA-1112, TA-1, TA-44, JZ-7, CD-4, CD-13, CD-25) in order to identify the pathogenicity of the different peach gummosis isolates. On the basis, we evaluated the susceptibility of six peach cultivars’Dahongpao’, Kurakata wase’,’Etao No.1’,’Spring Snow’,’Qingfeng’ and ’Xiahui No.5’, which were non-wounded and pricked inoculated with five isolates (JMB-122, LHKA-222, LHKB-111, XNHG-241, CDA-22). Then we preliminarily evaluated on the susceptibility of different peach cultivars to gummosis. Meanwhile, we also studied the relationship between the peach gummosis with the lenticel density and length of peach one-year, two-year, three-year born branchs. In addition, the chemical control experiment had been done in the field. The main results were as follows:1. The pathogenicity of ten isolates from different regions had got identified. The JMB-122from hubei province showed the most highly pathogenicity, but other nine isolates had the slight pathogenicity. The three isolates from Chengdu province showed no significant difference with the control.2. The susceptibility of six peach cultivars had been preliminarily evaluated. The peach cultivar’Spring Snow’was the most susceptive, then’Qingfeng’ and ’Kurakata wase’ were medium sensitivity. The peach cultivars’Xiahui No.5’,’Etao No.1’and’Dahongpao’showed the weakest susceptibility.3. We preliminary explored the relationship between the lenticel of peach tree branches with gummosis. The conlusion showed the significant linear prositive correlation between the lenticel density and length of peach branches with the disease index of gummosis.4. Through the chemical control experiments of the field, we got the relatively effective control reagent and methods for peach gummosis in the field. Trunks were painted by Shuangfei powder before sprout, then sprayed with propiconazol three times after blossom. This treatment had the most effective prevention, which showed the remarkable difference with others.
