Majia pummelo[Citrus.grandis(L.)Osbeck] is one of unique pummelo germplasm resources in Guangfeng County Jiangxi Province. It recorded that the history of cultivation of Majia pummelo was more than100years, has become the national product of geographical indication until2010. Majia pummelo is loved by consumers for its unique flavor, with big, crisp, red flesh, high water content, pleasant sweetness and sourness and so on. Additionly, Majia pummelo has a latent market, with the juevnile phase is relatively short, and patience with storability and transport. However, in recent years with the expansion of industrial scale, the problems that the production of Majia pummelo was low were highlighted. The selection and configuration of pollination tree is one of improtant factors that affect the yield and qualityof Majia pummelo. This experiment by studying effect of different pollination on fruit quality of Majia pummelo, to provide a theoretical basis for the selection and configuration of the pollination tree of Majia pummelo during production. The main results are as follows:1. The pollen vitality of male parent and the effect of different pollen sources on fruit setting rate of Majia pummeloThe order of the viability of pollen which would were pollinated on Majia pummelo was Jiangba pummelo, Shatian pummelo, Longhuizao pummelo, Poncirus trifoliate. The pollen vitality was more than97%, and the differences was significant among the varieties. It was discovered the correlation of the pollen vitality and the effect of different pollen sources on fruit setting rate in Majia pummelo was positive. The fruit setting rate of Majia pummelo cross-pollinated by Poncirus trifoliate was only2.00%, may was caused by the incompatibility or low compatibility between Poncirus trifoliate and Majia pummelo. 2. The effect of different pollination combination on external quality of Majia pummeloBy comparing the color of rind and flesh, fruit size, fruit shape index, the weight of fruit and pulp, peel thickness, seeds number and others affected by different pollination combination of Majia pummelo. The results indicated that fruit weight and pulp weight and flesh proportion were increased among all cross-pollination combination, and peel thickness was significantly decreased. The flesh color of all cross-pollnation combination was no significantly different from self-pollination of Majia pummelo. The fruit height and dimater cross-pollinated by Shatian pummelo were significantly increased, and fruit weight was increased by15.36%, pulp weight was increased by36.82%, the number of seeds was increased by87.53%, but the fruit shape was still oval. The fruit shape cross-pollinated by Jiangba pummelo and Poncirus trifoliate was conical. The seeds number cross-pollinated by Jiangba pummelo, Longhuizao pummelo and Shatian pummelo was highly significantly increased. However, the seeds number cross-pollinated by Poncirus trifoliate was highly significantly decreased, every fruit had only26.50seeds.3. The effect of different pollination combination on interior quality of Majia pummeloBy comparing the content of The Soluble Solids, Titratable Acidity, Vitamin C and the rato of The Soluble Solids and Titratable Acidity affected by different pollination combination of Majia pummelo, the results indicated that the content of Vitamin C was increased among all cross-pollination combination. And the content of Titratable Acidity was no significantly difference among cross-pollination varieties. The content of The Soluble Solid cross-pollinated by Poncirus trifoliate was highly significantly decreased, but others were increaed. The content of The Soluble Solids, Titratable Acidity and Vitamin C cross-pollinated by Jianba pummelo got the highest. The rato of The Soluble Solids and Titratable Acidity was no difference among all pollination combination, so the taste of Majia pummelo by cross-pollinated was no different from self-pollinated. 4. Study of correlation among characters of Majia pummeloThe results indicated that the correlation got the highest between seeds and other characters. The correlation of fruit weight, flesh weight, seed weight and normal seeds number was positive. It was found that the increasing of fruit weight of Majia pummelo was caused by the increasing of flesh and seeds weight. Preliminary inferred that the increasing of flesh weight was caused by the increasing of the number of seeds. Both of the correlation between peel thickness and the content of The Soluble Solids and Vitamin C were significantly negative. The correlation between peel thickness and seeds weight was highly significantly negative, between peel thickness and normal seeds number were significantly negative. And the correlation of The Soluble Solids and Vitamin C was highly significantly positive (r=0.634).
