Insect sex pheromone is one kind of natural compound which released by insects in their sex mature age can attract other opposite sex inscets to mate. There are lots of advantages in sex pheromone such as specificity, efficient, unpolluted and so on in quarantine,so the traditional pesticide has been gradually replaced by sex phepheromone.The sex pheromone is becoming a new pest control tools.Ectropis obliqua Prout is one of the most serious pests in our China’s tea garden. When it become serious,all leaves can be eaten up.There is littie research on sex pheromone synthesis and the applied technology is insufficient, which needed’s continue reseach. The present article mainly investigates the research about the method of synthesizing the sex pheromone((Z,Z)-3,9-cis-6,7-epoxy-octadecadiene), and the applied technology in the field. The major results outlined as follows:1. A successful synthesis route was set up in4steps which are very short and the reaction time were short too.The pheromone was synthesized with the raw material of Methyl linolenate or Ethyl linolenate.The yield ratio was about15%, and the compound was identified by GC-MS. The result showed that the structure of compound was right. The synthesized compounds was used to investigate the attractive activity in the field trails,and the result showed that the compound effective as an attractant for the Ectropis obliqua Prout moth.2. The synthesized sex pheromone carried by natural rubber baits was investigated its biological activity under dosages of1μg~50μg in every bait.The results indicated that there is obvious difference among different treatments and the sex pheromones has the better attractive activity than other dosages when its dosage is10μg every bait.3. There is obvious difference among different doses ratios of (Z,Z)-3,9-cis-6,7-epoxy-octadecadiene and (z,z,z)-3,6,9-octadecatriene. The mix compoud have a better attractive activity than single compoud, especially when the compoud ratios was8:2and6:4.4. In the study of delayed mating on Ectropis obliqua Prout moth we can learn that delayed mating had negative effects on the fecundity and fertility of female moth.6d-delayed female had the lowest fecundity and fertility. With the delayed increase in the number of days, the adult life significantly increase, the highest male up to15.82d and13.97d females, significantly enhanced compared with the control.The female moth have a shorter mating season and with the increase of the age at matin,their reproductive viability were significantly reduced. These results suggest that we can use high-pheromone concentrations which can delay or disrupt mating, would be an effective behavioral management strategy to suppress populations of Ectropis obliqua Prout.
