In order to reveal the flowing characteristics of materials and air flow in an impellerblower, three-dimensional simulation was performed for the solid-gas two-phase turbulentflow in the impeller blower by using Fluent software with mixture model and standard k-εturbulence model. In the numerical calculation, the finite volume method is used todiscretize the governing equations. The SIMPLEC algorithm is applied for the solution ofthe discretized governing equations. Meanwhile, on the basis of the model of the solid-gastwo-phase flow simulation, contrast simulations on variations in working parameters suchas impeller’s rotational speed, material-fed speed and volume fraction of solid phase werecarried out.It is concluded that:(1) With the impeller speed increasing, the impeller velocityincreases, and the vortex and circumfluence decrease, the material flow is more smoothly;(2)In the limiting feed quantity range, the higher feed speed is, the more favorable thematerial-thrown is;(3) The change of the volume fraction of solid phase has less influenceon distribution of materials velocity; it only affects the volume fraction of solid phase atentire zone, and the volume fraction of solid phase at entire zone increases with theincrease of material volume fraction at inlet.
