Subclinical bovine mastitis is not easy to discover because of its no obviousclinical symptoms, thus often widely spread and cause great economic loss. Withoutproper treatment, it may develop to clinical mastitis. A large range of pathogens couldcause mastitis, and it’s vary among different areas. This study is aimed to isolate anddetermine the main dairy farms in four areas causes of subclinical mastitis, and toexplorer their sensitivity to some antibiotics and tranditional Chinese medicines, offering some theoretical accordance for prevention subclinical mastitis.Lanzhou Mastitis Test(LMT) was adopted to diagnosis the394milk samplescollected from the main dairy farms in four areas. Among them,173milk sampleswere characterized as subclinical mastitis. The positive rate is53.21%(58/109) inLintao county(Gansu province),30.77%(64/208) in Yongdeng county(Gansuprovince),80%(16/20) in Minhe county(Qinghai province) and61.4%(35/57) inWuzhong city(Ningxia).68strains were obtained by isolating and culturing the samples. According totheir culture characteristics, microscope examination and biochemical test, thirteenisolates (19.12%) were determined to be E. coli, Thirty-seven isolates (54.41%) weredetermined to be S. aureus, eleven isolates (16.18%) were determined to be S.agalactiae, five isolates (7.35%) were determined to be S. dysgalactiae, two isolates(3.94%) were determined to be S. faecalis.13kinds of Tranditional Chinese medicine was adopted for detection drugsensitivity of the isolated bacterias. The results showed that Tranditional Chinesemedicines Berberine, Rhubarb, Dandelion, Houttuynia showed a good effect ofinhibiting the growth of pathogenic microorganisms. When combination of fourtranditional Chinese medicines Berberine, Rhubarb, Dandelion, Houttuynia couldhave a higher effect. S. agalactiae isolates were resistant to Gentamicin. E. coliisolates were resistant to Penicillin. S. aureus isolates were resistant to Streptomycin.Other antibiotics had a good efficiency of inhibiting the pathogenic microorganisms. These results indicated that, in dairy cattle farms were concentrated areas had ahigh incidence of subclinical mastitis, the major pathogenic bacterias were S. aureus,E coli and Streptococcus. Susceptibility test showed the major pathogenic bacteriasresistanted to clinical common Penicillin, Streptomycin and Gentamicin, andtranditional Chinese medicine Berberine, Rhubarb, Dandelion and Houttuynia hadgood inhibition to pathogenic bacterias.
