Dairy cow mastitis is one of the most common diseases in cow cultivation. It not only influences the quantity of cow milk production, causes severe economic losses, but also influences the quality of the milk. People have payed close attention to the prevention of the cow mastitis. At present the cow main pathogenic bacteria of mastitis are Staphylococci, Streptococci and Escherichia coli. Usually the antibiotics were used to cure the cow mastitis, however, the problems of residues and bacteria resistance to antibiotics have becoming more and more serious when antibiotic were used, which have been worried by the people of all world. Chinese medicinal herb does not yield tolerance and have the nature of low poison and anti-inflammatory and so on. The therapy of cow mastitis with Chinese medicinal herb is followed interest by many scholars. Traditional Chinese medicine percutaneous is an external preparation advanced development by our laboratory, it main contains dandelion, forsythia suspensa and baical skullcap root, has heat-clearing and detoxicating, antibiosis and antiphlogistic, detumescence and acesodyne function. In order to estimate the therapeutic efficacy of this preparation on the mastitis, we conducted this topic research.55 bacterial strains were isolated from 41 milk samples of clinical mastitis, including Staphylococci (20 of 55, 36.4%), Streptococci (24 of 55, 43.6%) and Gram-negative bacilli (11 of 55, 20%). The leading pathogens of clinical mastitis were Streptococcus agalactiae, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli accounting for 30.9%, 21.8% and 16.3%.By using the approach of artificial challenge mouse, 0.05ml 106CFU·ml-1 bacterium liquid which contain three kinds bacterium were injected into mammary gland. 24 hours later, mouse emerged apparent clinical symptom and pathological change, the content of TNF-αand activity of NAGase in mammary gland tissue rised obviously, and bacteriums were isolated from the mammary gland which we injected bacteriums. It demonstrated that we succeed making mouse tentative mastitis.Through the therapeutic test on mouse tentative mastitis, the therapeutic efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine percutaneous was estimated. The results showed: the cure rate and effective power of traditional Chinese medicine percutaneous were 60% and 80%, it could obviously alleviate the mouse pathological changes, depress the content of TNF-αand activity of NAGase in mammary gland tissue, reduce the bacterial number in mammary gland tissue. All above demonstrate that the traditional Chinese medicine percutaneous have good therapeutic efficacy on mouse tentative mastitis. The results of clinical pharmacodynamics experiment showed that: the cure rate and effective power of traditional Chinese medicine percutaneous were 78.6% and 89.3%, demonstrated that the traditional Chinese medicine percutaneous have good therapeutic efficacy on cow clinical mastitis.
