Leaf vegetable sweet potato is accepted as vegetable as it tastes good withrich of nutritional components including vitamin C, and chlorogenic acid, flavonoids,The leaf-vegetable sweet potato belong to leaf-edible vegetable, so it contains certainamount of nitrate. Compared with the traditional model of cultivation ofleaf-vegetable sweet potato, pattern of by hydroponic shows some advantages. However, there is no report of study on hydroponic of leaf-vegetable sweet potato, and the effects of hydroponic on the growth and quality of leaf-sweetpotato remainsunknown. Therefore, the study focused on the effects of hydroponic and differentsolutions, solutions with different forms and their ratio of nitrogen on the growth andcontents of nutrient components and nitrate of leaf-vegetable sweet potato wasconducted, expect providing references for production of leaf-edibale sweet potatowith high-quality and less contamination. The results are as following:1、under the conditions of hydroponic, leaf-vegetable sweet potato growed well. However, the yeild by hydro cultured had not been improved as compared to thetraditional cultured in soil. The different nitrogen level in the nutrient solution playedan obvious impact on the growth of the roots of leaf-vegetable sweet potato. When thecontent of nitrogen increase to2times and3times, the number of roots decreasedsignificantly. There was no significantly effects of N level in solution on the rootsactivity, but the activity of roots was the highest in the solution which contains2timesN.2、Compare to cultivation in the soil, hydroponic increased significantly thecontent of Vc in leaves of leaf-vegetable sweet potato, but not significantly effect onthe content in tender stems and petioles. There was no significantly effect ofhydroponic on protein content, but there were difference of protein content amongdifferent parts of leaf-vegetable sweetpotato, the content in the leaves were highersignificantly than that in tender stems and petioles. The content of flavonoid wasincreased by hydroponic cultivation, and the range was increased as the hydrocultured went on.3、Under hydroponic culture, the nitrate content in tender stems was significantlyhigher than that in the leaves, and the content in leaves was significantly higher than that in the petioles. Compared to soil cultivation, hydroponic increased the content ofnitrate of leaf-vegetable sweetpotato. There were significant effects of differentnutrient solutions on the nitrate content in the leaf-vegetable sweet potato. The nitratecontent in leaf-vegetable sweetpotato cultured in1/2HL solution were significanthigher than that in Hua’nan A. While in Yuansi solution was similar with that culturedin the field, and both of them were significant lower than those in other three solutions. There were significant effects of different N forms and their ratio in the nutrientsolutions on the nitrate content in leaf-vegetable sweet potato. With the increased ofconcentration and ratio of NO3-N in the solution, the nitrate content in leaf vegetablesweet potato increased. The appropriate content of NH4+-N in the solution will retardthe increasing of nitrate content in the leaf-vegetable sweet potato.(CO(NH2)2-Ncould decrease the nitrate content of hydroponically sweet potato.
