Genetic diversity in Callicarpa dichotoma (Lour.) k. koch was researched by means ofmorphological marker in this paper: the author make the investigation on the distribution ofCallicarpa dichotoma (Lour.) k. koch located in Shandong, meanwhile, traits which have aclose relationship with ornamental characteristics were chosen in this article to researchgenetic diversity of Callicarpa dichotoma (Lour.) k. koch. Seeds of seven mother plants inCallicarpa dichotoma (Lour.) k. koch were selected to make families and genetic diversity ofthe families was research. The author selected4good strains and made the clones. The resultswere as following:1. Five traits which have a close relationship with ornamental characteristics werechosen in this article to research genetic diversity of Callicarpa dichotoma (Lour.) k. kochlocated in Taohuayu and Culai mountain. The results showed that: There are very significantdifferences in fruit number of infructescence, transverse diameter of fruit, longitudinaldiameter of fruit and shape index of fruit both among and within group. The averagecoefficient of variation in every trait of group Culai (CV=20.32%) is larger than it of groupTaohuayu (CV=9.31%), the coefficient of variation of shape index of fruit(CV=9.31%) is theminimum as well as fruit number of infructescence (CV=48.28%) is the Maximum.Comparatively speaking, the trait of shape index of fruit is genetically stable while the trait offruit number of infructescence has wide variation. The order of the average coefficient ofvariation of quantitative traits in every group is fruit number of infructescence> transversediameter of fruit> longitudinal diameter of fruit> shape index of fruit; the variation of thecolor of fruit which belongs to quantitative trait is measured by calculating shannon-wienerindex, as a result, the Shannon-Wiener index(H′)of the color of fruit in two groups wasmore than0.8,it showed that there is a widely variation of the color of fruit. In addition thevariation of the color of fruit in group Culai (HCulai=1.0390) was more wide than it in groupTaohuayu (HTaohuayu=1.0252).The average Phenotype of differentiation coefficient (VST)of the four quantitative traits is97.02%, the variance component between group(94.84%) ismuch larger than it among group(2.79%). As a result, the variation between group is the maincourse of the variation of phenotypic traits in the species Callicarpa dichotoma (Lour.) k.koch. 2. Seven wild Callicarpa dichotoma (Lour.) k. koch trees located in Tao huayu andMountain Culai were selected to breed to be7families. By researching the genetic diversityof15phenotypic traits of the7families, we got the results that: the value range ofcoefficient variation in every traits was from4.04%to68.74%, the value range of averagecoefficient variation in the7families was from5.65%to11.89%. There were very significantdifferences in every traits of the7families. the value of VST is from5.65%to11.89%,which were calculated by the method of nested design variance analysis. The range ofaverage genetic diversity index of the flower number of inflorescence was from1.1627to1.6840by shannon-Wiener method, from0.6484to0.7978by Simpson method; Therange of average genetic diversity index of the fruit color was from1.0387to1.3500byshannon-Wiener method, from0.5988to0.7318by Simpson method, all the resultsabove showed that the genetic diversity of the7families of Callicarpa dichotoma (Lour.) k.koch very plentiful. By correlation analysis, the results showed that: there were significantcorrelation among many traits of the7families of Callicarpa dichotoma (Lour.) k. koch. Inorder to eliminate the influence of overlapped information, the author make the principalcomponent analysis to the13quantitative characters of Callicarpa dichotoma (Lour.) k. kochto research the influence degree of13quantitative characters to differences among the7families of Callicarpa dichotoma (Lour.) k. koch. The results showed that: the first fourprincipal components made the accumulative contribution rate to93.36%to thevariation of every traits of the7families and the vegetative organs traits made morecontribution to the variation than the reproductive organs traits.
