Sdudy On Seed Production Characteristics Of Rice Genetic Male Sterile Line In West Hunan

Based on the comparative occurance of Lu18s in West Hunan, we studied the possibility of the application of rice photoperiod and thermosensitive genetic male sterile line. To elucidate the problem, we selected9types of new genetic male sterile line as our materials and detected their period of duration, determined their agronomic traits including plant height, characteristics of leaves, grains and sterile alternation etc.1. Characteristics of duration period in all materials are middle temperature sensitive. Thereof, temperature sensitivity of P33S and393S is Level III and V, and the rest of these materials are Level Ⅳ.2. Characteristics of the plant height, ear and grain is much more complex. Without GA treatments, height of7S191can only reach57.8cm, that of Zhu712S, Wang S and393S variated from62.1to64.3cm, and that of P33S,280S, YunuoS, S-127and Ke S alter in66.0-69.8cm. Number of leaves mainly influenced by the sowing season, that is to say, earlier sowing season results in more leaves, which just match the thermo-photic characteristics. On the characteristics of grains,280S, S-127and Wang S possess a small ear but the rest materials all have a big ear, that about110-150seeds developed in single ear.3. On same condition, all the materials are sensitive to Smut Disease. The infective ratio of different materials are obviously distinct. The ratio of Ke S and P33S are4.24%and4.21%, that of Lu18S is3.76%,7S191is2.62%; but Wang S is lower than1%(0.81%).4. Lu18S,7S191,393S, Zhu712S Ke S, Yunuo S,280S and S-127can tolerate the low temperature below23℃and maintain their sterile characteristics. But P33S and Wang S display the selfing occurance after cold water (23℃) incubating for6days, in other words, these2types male sterile are sensitive to low temperature.5. The outcrossing characteristics of materials are all fine. Stigma exposure ratio of almost all materials are over than57%except S-127(48.5%), and P33S and393S can get to81.29%and87.84%. Ratio of morning flowering in all materials are relative high, all the materials can arrived to more than57%, thereof, ratio of393S, Zhu712S, Yunuo S,7S191and280S are89.32%、88.14%、87.60%、82.16%、82.15%. According to these results we can conclude that (1) Lu18S should still be a wonderful control on the test of male sterile line;(2)7S191、Zhu712S、Ke S、280S and393S can be used as objectives for further study for their stable agronomic traits, well sterile occurance in low temperature, and wonderful outcrossing characteristics;(3) The rest5types of genetic male sterile lines should be remodified the characteristics (P33S, Wang S) of terile and purity (Wang S, S-127,Yunuo S).
