Camellia chekiangoleosa Hu is a small tree which has high value of exploitation and utilization.Through the phenology observation, the observation of anatomical characteristics of root, stem, leaf, and the study on the cutting propagation and grafting technology of Camellia chekiangoleosa, theresults were concluded as follows:(1)It was shown that under the natural condition, Camellia chekiangoleosa belongs to sproutstrong tree, but with weak branching. It had spring shoot, summer shoot and autumn shoots. Itsflowering period lasted130d, its flower could be for6days, and plant trees blossom lasts for12-30d.There is two growth peak in the growth of its fruit. In the second period, it was an important period ofthe development and enrichment of the seeds. Multiple bud scales of the flower could protect Camelliachekiangoleosa from damage in cold environment.(2)It was observed its primary xylem beam more prototype. The character of large cortex area ofroots and developing conducting tissue was proved that it has a strong suction and delivery capacity. The management of Camellia chekiangoleosa should need more attention on the water conservation ofprotection and create conducive to the growth and propagation of suitable habitat. But in the late growth,it needs entry of sunshine. Under the condition of habitat fragmentation and serious droughtenvironment, it is necessary to move to the cultivation area. The cole-resistant ability of Camelliachekiangoleosa shows it could grow normally in cold area. It is expected in the introduction andcultivation in northern China.(3)The effect of cutting period and plant hormone on the cutting propagation of CamelliaChekiangoleosa was studied in this paper. The results showed that there was no significant differencebetween summer cuttings and winter cuttings of C. Chekiangoleosa, while the plant hormone causedsignificant difference among the survival rate, average root number and average root length as well asthe new shoot length (p<0.05). Among the ten plant hormone treatment, the optimal one was mixedplant hormone (80%IBA+20%NAA) treatment with concentration of0.5g/L, which was better thanthat of NAA and IBA alone.Mist propagation and growth hormone made the cells of the cortex, phloemand cambium proliferate and expand as well as rooting rate.(4)The experiment of grafting showed that the graft survival rate in the middle of May is higherthan that in the middle of July. The temperature at30℃is not conducive to produce callus, thusaffecting the survival rate of grafting. Therefore, the grafting time sooner rather than later; the graftingmethods play a little role on Camellia Chekiangoleosa grafted seedlings survived. They are bothsuitable as grafting techniques for Camellia Chekiangoleosa.Camellia Chekiangoleosa3a seedlingsurvival rate is lower than for grafting of Camellia oleifera seedling grafting, and graft survival,Camellia oleifera seedling grafting when the shoot more than3of a growth of Camellia oleiferaseedlings grafted. Bud grafting is suitable for industrialized seedling, and grafted seedlings suitable forquality seedling breeding.
