Phyllostachys pubescens has important effects on economy, ecology, and society. Studies on thedynamics of the bamboo shoots-yong bamboos and allometric analysis on culm form with fertilization, altitude in Phyllostachys pubescens population. The main results as follows:1. Based on the dynamic tablet of the moso bamboo shoots-young bamboo fertilization canincrease the number of bamboo shoots and ramets, but has no effect on diameter at breast height (DBH)of ramets, and the earlier cohorts were constantly larger. The end of the asymmetric competition inthirty-sixth days. The survival of shoots (young bamboos) fleetly growed into ramets, and in the middleof cohorts have the larger proportion in all ramets. The ramet strategy is that increasing the bambooshoots, some shoots (young bamboos) were dead and larger shoots (young bamboos) survival and occpyspace through asymmetric competition in the conditions of adequate nutrient.2. The allometric exponent follows the allometric model of a quarter of a multiple of the DHB withothers and was negatively related to allometric exponent, which accord with metabolic-level boundarieshypothesis. The allometric exponent of the DHB with height, length of ramets was increasing in the firstthree cohorts. The allometric constant of the fourth cohort is greater than others, which shows later newramets (bamboo) have aggravating competition on illumination.Through changing bamboo shootgrowth rate and morphology, affecting the individual allometric growth model.3. The allometric exponent and constants of DHB and height, length in Phyllostachys pubescenswas not significant difference, while the allometric exponent of DHB and the weight, under branchheight was significantly diminishing with fertilization, and the weight was reduced by8.7~15.1%.Fertilization has morphological plasticity on the weight, under branch height and pitch number, whichcan improve the utilization of solar energy.4. The DBH and height was isauxesis of Phyllostachys pubescens population under altitude of400m~600m in Suichang, Other altitudes were allometric growth. The altitude distribution of bamboobetween diameter at breast height and plant height are3/4allometric growth model in Yong’an, and theallometric exponent was largest under altitude of800m. The change of the allometric exponent betweenDBH and under branch height has the same rule. The allometric exponent of DBH and weight wassignificantly greater than800m and1000m distribution at an altitude of400m and600m in Suichang. The allometric exponent was not significant with different altitudes, but the allometric constant waslargest under the altitude of800m. The allometric exponent was larger in suitable area of Phyllostachyspubescens population, which showed the changes of altitudes can cause morphological plasticity ofstem type in bamboo.
