The main ecological environment problems of Yimeng mountains region belonging to rockymountain areas in the Northern China, are soil erosion and soil drought, which seriously restrictsthe sustainable development of the region, and the environmental problems caused by nutrientleaching were also not allowed to ignore. Studying on the dynamics of soil water availability indifferent textured soils and the characteristics of nutrient leaching could guide for the vegetationrestoration and the development of the dryland farming. In this study, two typical textured soils(brown soil and cinnamon soil) collected from different area in the Yimeng mountains regionwere selected. Through field investigation and sampling analysis, field observation, Soil columnsimulation experiment and potted experiment, The basic soil physical properties, watermovement characteristics, nitrogen and phosphorus leaching characteristics, the dynamicchanges of water availability the characteristics of the water consumption of transpiration ofacaciawere systemically analyzed based on these measurements. The main conclusions of thisstudy were as follows:(1)The basic physical properties were compared between brown soil and cinnamon soil. Thebrown soil and cinnamon soil had low fractal dimension, were skeleton soil in Yimengmountainous area. The brown soil had more gravel and sand, higher soil bulk density; The silt, clay content and soil porosity of cinnamon soil is higher.(2)Through the analysis of soil water movement characteristics of brown soil and cinnamonsoil,we found that, The saturated hydraulic conductivity of Brown soil is greater than that ofcinnamon soil. Under the same water content condition, soil water diffusivity of Brown soil ishigher than that of cinnamon soil. Van Genuchten Model could better simulate the soil waterretention curve of brown soil and cinnamon in Yinmeng mountainous area.(3)By comparing the nitrogen and phosphorus leaching characteristics of brown soil andcinnamon soil under the condition of different fertilizer levels, we found that, the phosphorusleaching amount of brown soil was significantly higher than that of cinnamon soil;In terms of nitrogen, cinnamon soil leaching amount is higher.(4) With peanut transpiration rate as the index, to compare the dynamic change of wateravailability of brown soil and cinnamon soil. we found that, Although brown soil and brown soilhas different soil physical properties, but the dynamic curve of soil water availability was nosignificant difference.
