Chongming island is the third largest island in China and the largest estuary sand island in the world. The overall goal of building a modern ecological island had been established by’Chongming Overall Planning (2005-2020)’, which is planing to create a low-carbon, ecology and sustainable agricultural development mode. However, the excessive fertilization utilization and high larger of waste deposits are the mainly factors which in intensively hinder its development of Chongming island. The livestock and poultry manure are valuable resources which contain rich manure. Thus, it is very important to fully reuse these resources, which can reduce not only the manure pressure on environment, but also improve soil quality and soil fertility. So it is necessary to explore the best fertilizer type to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the high quality, which is important to help the establishment of a basis low-carbon, ecology and sustainable mode of Chongming agriculture. In this paper, a field experiment was study to the effect of pig manure and straw compost on the soil property, greenhouse gas emissions, cauliflower yield and quality under the same amount of nitrogen fertilizer utilization. The tested plants were two varieties of winter cauliflower, cauliflower and broccoli. And four different treatments were set:planted soil treated with chemical fertilizer (F), planted soil treated with chemical fertilizer and organic fertilizer products (FO), planted soil treated with fertilizer and pig manure compost (FP), planted soil treated with fertilizer and straw compost (FS). Two methods were set for the gas sampling and they are with or without broccoli planted. The experiment was from September2011to March2012and October2012to March2013.During the two species cauliflower planting, the FS treatment make the highest increase of the production than other treatments, the cauliflower increased30.48%and the broccoli increased19.59%; the FP treatment make the highest increase quality than other treatments, for cauliflower and broccoli, the Vitamin C (Vc) were increased12.66%and10.54%; the protein content were increased of27.58%and45.28%; the soluble sugar content were increased26.70%and35.26%; the nitrate (NO3--N) content decreased of51.01%and40.31%which were all compared with chemical fertilizer used only. For the greenhouse emission, it is lower in FO treatment than others of the seasonal emissions and seasonal mean fluxes in cauliflower seasonal; it is lower in FP treatment than others of the seasonal emissions and seasonal mean fluxes in broccoli seasonal. During the cauliflower growth, the integrated global warming potential (100a) was significantly lower in FO and FP treatments than fertilized used only and they were871.2kg/hm2and942.0kg/hm. For the broccoli, the integrated global warming potential (100a) was significantly lower in FO and FP treatments than others both in the two different gas sampling ways. They were891.5kg/hm2and840.1kg/hm2in FO and FP treatments, respectively. For the nutrient of soil planted broccoli, the soil organic content was higher in the soil treated with fertilization and organic matter than the fertilization used only. The FP treatment is relatively higher of cauliflower and broccoli yield, quality and soil nutrients and microbial activity, and emissions of three greenhouse gases, which were showed in the planted season from September2011to March2012and October2012to March2013. All in all, the FP treatment can be used as the development of low-carbon, ecology, sustainable development of agricultural planting mode in the study area as recommended fertilization.
